RIGHT HAND DRIVE 2.6 liter inline-6 2-door coupé imported from Isle of Man. Hi everyone, I'm Mike. I'm here to tell you about my 1966 Alfa Romeo Sprint 2600. Please note, again, this blue beauty is right hand drive. According Alfa Storico Centro Direzionale the chassis number AR 854549 corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint RHD (106.09), manufactured on the 22nd December 1965 and sold on the 8th March 1966 to Alfa Romeo UK. The body color is Alfa originale: bluette. It's a lovely car, with really excellent styling. It's quite luxurious for the period and one of the prettiest Alfas I’ve ever seen. The lines are long and clean. The nose is agressive and the air scoop on the hood gives the stretched front a great look. Currently the car has 74,000 miles on it. There's black paint beneath the rockers and rear bumper. That's original undercoating. That's why this sprint isn't rusted out like the others on the market now. It starts right up. The start switch is under the dash. Pull it up. Turn the key. Feather the throttle. Vrooom! Don't be put off by the RHD, It's very easy to get used to. Shifting is a breeze. Passengers get to hang on with their left hand while they tune the radio with their right. Original power windows? They work! The 2600 was produced from 1961 to 1968. The sprint was designed by Giugaro while working for Corrozzeria Bertone. From a manufacturing perspective, this was one the last of the hand finished Alfas. It was produced in small numbers even for Alfa with less than 7,000 made across the Sprint's entire 8 year production lifespan The cars were very suitable for high-speed pursuits. Some were produced for the Police to counter the increase in armed robberies by motorized gangs in 1960s Italy The Sprint's 2.6 Liter inline 6-cylinder dual overhead cam triple carbureted beauty reminds me of a stretched version of the ubiquitous 4-cylinder. That triple solex configuration and stock 9:1 compression means this car puts out 145 brake horse power and has a top speed of 120mph but this car is geared toward touring rather than sporting, the ride is relaxed and smooth. The 2600 series sports a double wishbone suspension and was designed to comfortably transport four adults at high speed over a long distance. Everything complete and original in the engine bay. Pictures: http://mlfast.com/1966_2600_Sprint.html Includes packet containing maintenance and import records I purchased this car from William Hall last year around the time of the national alfa convention as my third alfa but am currently focusing on my 59 spider. Since purchase I have had repaired the leaking clutch and brake slave cylinders and installed a new old stock brake light switch on the brake slave cylinder. Contact me if you have any questions. Good luck with the bidding! As is/no warranty. Buyer assumes responsibility for picking up the vehicle/shipping. Lots of questions so far, so for the 100+ people who have this ad in their watch list, here's a link to a video on the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jUZLgYoptk
