Vehicle Detail
First, let me say that I do not exaggerate. I want the next owner of this fine Saab 9-5 ARC Sportwagon to feel that he/she knows the exact condition of this car after having read the following. It's not fun trying to buy a car if you feel like you don't know the whole story. The new owner should feel confident that there will be no surprises. The details: Here is a beautiful 2002 Saab 9-5 Arc Sportwagon with no deferred maintenance, no unhappy surprises, only many remaining miles of enjoyable, economical motoring. This is a 2002 Saab 9-5 Arc Sportwagon. The "Arc" designation means that this is Saab's best 9-5 model--- the most equipment, luxury, performance, appearance and safety. This Saab has every option available, including back-up warning, rain-operated wipers, HID High-Intensity headlamp system with high-pressure wash, Traction Control, Harman-Kardon premium CD audio system with weather band, and the powerful 3-liter turbo-charged 6-cylinder engine. This Saab has an automatic-transmission with Economy, Sport and Winter modes. Sport mode is very responsive, and a lot of fun. I'm highly skilled when it comes to cars, and I'm very particular about condition and maintenance. I'm going to describe each important aspect of the car and its condition, so that you can feel certain that you really know this Saab if you choose to bid. Engine: The 3-liter V6 is in top condition; it's had 3000-4000 mile oil changes, and has had recent tuneup with new plugs, air-filter, serpentine belt, and timing belt. I was suspicious about a possible head gasket leak, so replaced both head gaskets and serviced the valves at the same time. While I had it disassembled, I rebuilt the turbo-charger with new bearings. When the cylinder bores were inspected, there was very little wear, indicating that this engine still has a very long life ahead of it. In a nutshell : The engine is very healthy. Transmission: It's fine. It shifts smoothly and positively, just as it should. It has had regular fluid changes, which most folks forget to do. Suspension and steering: All ball-joints, tie-rod ends, rack, struts and sway-bar links are in fine condition with no discernable wear. The car tracks straight and true, wheels are aligned properly, and it goes down the road straight, just as it should. Tires: The tires are Yokohama's Avid H4, a tire well-respected for its handling ability. The front tires are like new, the rears have at least 70% of their life left. They are well-balanced and smooth. Handling is crisp and responsive. Exhaust: It's good, and shouldn't need any service for a long time. Brakes: All pads and rotors were replaced less than 3000 miles ago. They are in fine shape. Power accessories: Windows, seats, door-locks, mirrors, sunroof, cruise-control ---- everything works just as it should. No surprises! Climate-control / AC system: Works just as it should, shows no problem codes. Body / Exterior: It's really lovely. Yes, there are a few stone chips up front that have been carefully touched-up and look fine (the correct touch-up paint comes with the car). There is one minor "dent" under the left passenger window-- it is so shallow that it is difficult to see. I've tried to make it visible in the photo of the left side. The paint, finish and trim is very handsome, very glossy. If you look at the condition of the door sills, etc, you will see they are unusually nice, and free from blemishes. No one could tell this 2002 9-5 from a 2010 9-5, the condition is super. There is no rust on the exterior, or on the underside of the car !! No corrosion ! Interior: The interior is in beautiful condition. The premium leather seats and door panels have no rips, tears or signs of abuse. They look very handsome. The carpets are in fine condition, and a nearly-new set of custom-fit burgandy floor mats looks really nice. The headliner is clean with no problems. But does it run? In a nutshell, perfectly. It is very responsive, tight, and fun to drive. Economy? We live in a rural area, and our everyday driving produces gas mileage of around 23-24 mpg. On a highway trip it will consistently average above 30 mpg. It is perfectly happy on regular gas. Accidents? None ! Autochek Report: The Autochek report shows 4 owners. This is incorrect. The Saab was originally leased to a gentleman, who then purchased the car at the end of the lease. We are the next owner. There is a duplicate title event, which is what usually triggers an additional "owner". So what's wrong with this car ?! Well, there is a small crack on the edge of the passenger side of the console that I'm going to repair before the car is sold. Doesn't amount to much and is hard to notice. About the Buy-It-Now price: It's set at a realistic level, one that represents a good transaction for both the buyer and seller. I'm not a speculator. Paying and Picking-up: I would like a non-refundable deposit of $500 sent to my address within 48 hours of sale end. Balance due on or before Wednesday, May 18th. If you prefer, you may pay the entire amount "up front", and I will overnight the clear title to you so that you can register and insure the car for pickup. Inspect the car! You are most welcome to come and inspect and drive the car. My phone number is 413-253-7437, please don't call after 9:00 PM EST. Getting here for a pickup, or shipping: I'm happy to pick you up at Bradley International Airport or the Springfield, MA Amtrak station if you want to enjoy a great drive home. Shipping arrangements are yours to make, and I will cooperate in any way that I can to help the process. Please remember: Your winning bid is NOT an invitation to come and decide whether or not you want the car; your winning bid is, by Ebay rules, your commitment to purchase the car. Have your financing arranged before you bid. Nice Guy ? I will go the extra mile to assist a buyer in any way that I can, including storing the car until it is convenient for you to come and pick it up. The new owner will receive the Saab with a full tank of gas, totally ready to go. I strongly believe in treating people the way I would like to be treated. I will be gone from May 21st thru May 30th. Thanks, and if you choose to bid, the very best of luck ! Please feel free to call me with any additional questions or concerns. 413-253-7437 before 9:00 PM EST. PS: I couldn't add any more pictures, so could not show close-ups of the wheels. They are in fine shape with no curb rash. The spare is like new, and all tools are with the car. Seats: The Saab has the optional ventilated and heated seats in front, and heated rear seats too. On May-13-11 at 09:36:57 PDT, seller added the following information: PSS: The HID High Intensity headlight system has had new Sylvania (Osram) bulbs installed very recently, and works fine.
