very early,very rare 1953 studebaker commander regal coupe. as some of you guru,s may know, when the 53,s were first being produced, including proto types they did not lead in the roof seams, the rear top of the trunk seams, and also did not put in the T strips that go on top of the rear fender,at the base of the rear side windows. studebaker almost immedialy corrected this, but none the less, a very few escaped the factory with out them being finished. the cowl tag has a body number of 605, and is a very early number,and who knows it may be a proto type, not sure. the good on the car is it still retains the original 232 motor, and it is a auto tranny, and both VIN tags are still in place. themotor turns, and the frame is good, but beyond that, it is a real mess. bad floors,trunk, dents all over, no glass, no interior to speak of, no tail lights, no front bumper, no grills, etc. car is rough as they come. on the other hand, it is definitly worth saving, as it is very early production. i finally realized i don,t have the skills,or the funds to do anything with it, and its time to let someone else have a shot at it. i would love to see someone put it back all original but, it is more likely to be a race car,or hotrod. there is no reserve, but understand this is rough as they can be. car will roll,but tires are flat. buyer must arrange pickup. i will help load. car is west of phoenix,az. right off of I-10 and you can see it if desired.
