Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1970 Chevrolet Malibu. It is a two door hard top with bench seats and automatic shift on the column. The engine is original and is a 307 cubic inch with a two barrel carburetor. It has new dual exhaust. The transmission is a turbohydramatic 350. The rear differential is a 10 bolt, non posi unit. This is an Arlington, Texas built car. The car has A/C but it does not work...It is all there and hooked up but there is no freon in the system. The car has factory Power Disk brakes but the master cylinder is the wrong one for the car. Someone installed a drum brake master cylinder. The brakes need work. This car had the Ziebart rust protection done to it early in it's life (see images of the Ziebart plastic plugs in photobucket.) The Ziebart was probably done at the dealership when new. I think that is why it has survived as good as it has. If you are the winning bidder, bring a trailer, or arrange shipping. This would be a good builder car for an SS clone or an SS tribute. The engine runs very good and the transmission shifts fine. I do not have a tag and insurance for it so the driving I have done in it has been here on the farm. The body needs some work as does the interior. I have included lots of images and a photbucket link with even more pictures. These images should give you a good idea about the car. In addition, you can call me at 478-290-1039 between the hours of 5 PM Eastern time and 9 PM Eastern time. I will be glad to answer any and all of your questions to the best of my ability. Photo bucket link ----->>>> http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad18/jhtarpley/70%20Malibu/ Issues you should know about the car. The VIN tag is missing. It has rusted off or has been torn off. It is possible someone was making repairs on the lower part of the windshield area and ripped it off with a power tool. I do have a non negotiable title to the car (image of title is included in the listing.) IT IS NOT TRANSFERRABLE. I will give it to you but I cannot sign it over. I will give a bill of sale with the VIN number and all other information needed to the winning bidder. The State of Georgia does not require titles on vehicles 15 years old or older. Additionally, I have verified that the engine has the last part of the VIN stamped on it (also a picture attached) - so I know it is original to the car. I have also checked the Frame VIN so I know the car is correct to the car and matches the VIN number listed. If you have questions at this point, you should also know that I had the local I had a sheriff's department run the VIN number on this car and it came back clean. I did not realize the car had a missing VIN number until days after I purchased it. I was going to try to restore the car, but I do not have the funds. To the winning bidder...A $500 non-refundable deposit is required via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. The balance must be paid within one week in cash when you pick up the car. If you need other arrangements, please call me at the number listed. After full payment is made, I may be able to store the car for you for a short period until you can arrange pickup. Thank you for looking and contact me for information if you need it...DO NOT FORGET TO SEE THE PHOTOBUCKET LINK.
