Vehicle Detail
1970 Pontiac Lemans 4-door sedan. Factory ordered with Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, Hurst Shifter, 350V8–2bbl, 3:23 posi-trac, front disc brakes, gauges, tachometer, wood steering wheel, rear window defog. Very unusual equipped automobile. Matching number motor. PHS documented. Originally built at Fremont, California plant and sold new at Talmage Wood Pontiac in Santa Rosa, California. This car has spent most of its life in northern California and was previous owners main mode of transportation prior to being taken out of service 2 years ago. So this car has accumulated a few battle scars thru its 41 year life and 160K plus miles. Clean frame and solid floor boards. Part of the trunk pan has been replaced. The car has had previous Maaco type paint and body work and is starting to bubble and crack by rear window channel area where filler had been used. The interior will need a complete redo including seats, carpet headliner and package tray. Speedo and tach do not work. Dash is cracked but has a molded plastic dash cap placed over the original dash (not glued down). Mechanically the car is very reliable. Starts, runs and drives very well. Rides and drives smooth down the highway. Does not leak fluids. No A/C or power steering, so lots of room under the hood to work on engine. Shifter is tight and does not have any slack. No overheating problems. Horn blows loud. All lights and turn signals work and shine bright as the electrical wiring has not been cut up. This car is a great entry level collectible Pontiac that is inexpensive to own, fun to drive and a great conversation piece at street meets and car shows. Has alot of hard to find desirable parts if you decide to part the car out instead of keeping intact (I personally would not part out such an unusual and rare car). No longer have the indoor space to keep this car. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 832-205-0773. Thanks. Pictures of car were taken on May 3, 2011.
