Vehicle Detail
Fun, fast and great gas mileage! This car was purchased by my on ebay two years ago with 152k miles and still runs perfect. The former owners added some performance parts such as a front stabilizer bar, Nuespeed exhaust, Neuspeed cold air intake, beefed up front brakes, rear spoiler, Pioneer Inno satellite radio system, side ground effects. The exhaust sounds amazing; deep not tinny and very throaty. The rims are 18" R32 vw rims with mostly new tires. I purchased these rims from ebay and they came with two newer tires and I immediately replaced two. Then one had a slow leak I got tired of and went to the tire store and didn't want to wait a day so the new tire didn't match. I added the cd changer. So the car has more horsepower than stock GTIs but is still not too tuned. There is not a performance chip. I have had the car serviced regularly at my local VW dealerships using synthetic oil. The car does not use any oil up. I had the brakes and rotors replaced at the dealership and a couple of front end parts replaced. Really the only thing major I have had to do was get a new battery (from the dealership). The car runs great. The sound system is great. The Pioneer Inno system for satellite radio is so cool I bought one to use at work. This system allows you to record songs as they are playing for free and you can play them wherever there is a signal. I have recorded over 100 songs and I can take the unit with me and use it with headphones or connect it to my home stereos. Really cool system. It plays through the tape deck which is actually the cleanest sound connection. There are a lot of miles on this car but she will go strong for much longer. One of my other cars is a 2002 Eurovan with the same engine with 165k on it and no problems. These cars do not need a timing belt changed according to my dealer since it is self lubricating. What is wrong with the car? It has a few chips and scratches. Many times people have commented how nice it looks when I am at a gas station. I had to take off the side tinting as in Michigan it is illegal except for the top 4 inches. One of the hinges on the glove box is broken but it still works okay. The temperature gauge works80 percent of the time for some reason and always has so I don't worry about it. The only rust is on the back hatch near the handle and a little coming through hatch door weld (see photos). But this car looks really nice from five feet as you can see. I am ALSO INCLUDING four original GTI alloys. I was planning on painting these black and using them with snow tires and will do so if I keep the car. Also included are new halo front lights I purchased but never had installed. The passenger side front light housing is kind of frosted but functions fine. This car is the funnest car to drive I have ever owned. I just really don't need it anymore. I am getting a Mercedes 500 coup and I would have given this to my 16 year old except it is a stick and way too fast. But that is how much I trust driving it. The air is cold, heated seats, everything works. I have enjoyed using it to make my commute more tolerable. I am starting the bidding at a price below what I believe the car is worth. I would need a $500 deposit within 72 hours and then you can arrange with me for the car to be picked up. I live in a suburb of Detroit.
