This 1969 Rambler station wagon is a true time capsule. The 440 was the top of the line trim option for this model. With only 21,230 original miles the condition of this car is remarkable for its age. Regularly maintained and serviced over the years, the wagon runs and drives as if it were new. The 232 inline six cylinder engine runs strong, doesn't smoke, leak oil or emit any strange noises. The three speed automatic shifts smoothly and has no leaks. The car was originally built as basic transportation with few options. There is no power steering, brakes or windows. The rear window operates by a crank on the rear door. There is no radio or a/c. The body is solid with no body work ever. The car was repainted about two years ago in the original Pompeii Yellow and still looks good. There are some chips, minor scratches and touchups from use. The interior is in phenomenal condition. The basket weave seat vinyl has no rips or worn spots. The carpet is in very good condition but is slightly sun faded. The rear cargo area has a few minor cracks in the plastic side panels and the dash has a crack in the vinyl by the speaker area. The original spare is in the hidden storage area that looks showroom new. There is new carpeting in the cargo area and matching floor mats. All chrome and stainless trim is intact and in very good condition. There is some pitting of the chrome pot metal exterior trim pieces but they still look good. The underside has the original undercoating and is rock solid. There is minor surface rust on some of the suspension components. Tires are narrow white wall radials and are about three years old and mounted on the original painted steel wheels with the original hubcaps. Recent repairs include: New rear brakes New tinted windshield and gasket Rebuilt single barrel carburetor (Carter RBS) Battery New exhaust - manifold pipe, muffler, tail pipe This is a very neat little wagon that we have enjoyed for several years.
