Vehicle Detail
Time for summer and a classic muscle car convertible. This is your chance to land a factory Air Conditioned Torino GT Convertible. One of only 1,613 Convertibles produced in 1971. 1971 Ford Torino GT Convertible This is a color change car that originally came from the factory as: Medium Green Metallic with Medium Green Vinyl and a white top. The colors were changed sometime prior to 2002 when the first dated picture was made. I will describe the car as it is today: INTERIOR: The black vinyl interior and carpet is perfect. All of the seat covers were replaced before I bought the car. Since I have owned it, I have added new door panels, arm rests, reconditioned steering wheel, horn assembly, and upgraded the stereo with a Custom Autosounds USA-630 digital reproduction stereo. DRIVETRAIN: The engine and drive train is the original 351 Cleveland 2V with a C4 automatic column shift. Engine starts and runs strong. The engine compartment is clean and detailed out with new chrome valve covers and air cleaner. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES: The suspension and brakes have been completely upgraded over the last 3 years. Complete new front suspension and upgraded to Power Disk Brakes. All brake lines have been replaced and rear drums have been totally rebuilt with new parts. New sway bar and all front suspension bushings upgraded. There are new shocks all around and the front springs are 2" lowered versions from Dearborn Classics that give it a great stance, I also have brand new standard height springs that will go with the car. EXTERIOR: It is painted factory red with black cobra style hood graphics. The paint is about 10 years old now and is still looking good at 10 feet. The body is straight with no door dings or dents. The convertible top is new with all new components including tack strips, pads, back window, cables, and new weather stripping. There are some paint bubbles that indicate rust on the hood, passenger door, and around both rear quarters. The tires are BF Goodrich radial T\A's with about 80% tread life and the 15x8" Magnum 500 wheels are showing some corrosion. Have to sell the car to make way for new projects. There is a low reserve on the car and I reserve the right to remove the listing if it sells locally first. On May-02-11 at 17:50:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Comments: The engine has upgraded Edelbrock intake and four barrel carburetor that has been on the car since at least 2002. Additional photos showing the rust spots have been added. The spot on the passenger door is showing through and is the largest of them.On May-05-11 at 18:43:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions about the air conditioning, the car has factory air that still runs well, it leaks a little but it has been converted to modern coolants and if I recharge it once a year it still cools well.On May-06-11 at 17:47:10 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE LOWERED --- WILL SELL THIS WEEK!!!!
