This is one 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX MR SE. The MR is rare the MR SE even more. In fact, I don’t think there is another completely stock Evo IX MR for sale in the US. This car is pristine. It has never been modified in any way. The original owner even kept the plastic film over parts of the interior. I am selling it because I have four other cars and just don't use it that much. With two little kids, I have very little time for much else. This is the SE version of the Evo MR so it has some special options like a wickerbill extension on the tail, red stitching on the Alcantara Recaro seats, a front airdam extension and black diamond finish BBS wheels. In addition it has all the MR parts and pieces like a 6 speed transmission, gauge pack and reworked Bilstein shocks for a little bit better ride. It has 22180 miles on the odometer and has been garaged its entire life. It was purchased in 2006 from South Coast Mitsubishi in Orange County CA by the previous owner. He lived in Orange County and had a three car garage and another car he used as a daily driver. When I bought it from him in March of 2009 it had 15700 on it. I live in a suburb of San Diego, use other cars as daily drivers and garage the Evo always. In other words, the car was purchased and has lived in CA its whole life. It has been driven in the rain a few times when I’ve been caught out in a bit of weather but probably only 3 or 4 times. This Evo is in exceptional condition. It has NEVER been smoked in by me or anyone else. I have taken my 5 year old for a few drives but made sure he is very careful. No pets have ever entered this car and it still has some of the new Evo smell. Please look closely at the picture of the driver’s seat as I believe that tells the story of the interior. No rips, stains or scratches. The wheels have zero curb rash. I can find a few nicks on the front air dam but nothing worth worrying about. There is a small scratch on the plastic body below the driver’s door. I have included a picture of it. The scratch is 1.5 inches long and about the width of a small piece of string. I think it may have come from something thrown up by the front wheel. It is barely noticeable but it is there. Mechanically the Evo is perfect. No strange noises and everything is tight. The original clutch grabs at the right spot and doesn't slip. The car has never been launched so it is no surprise the drivetrain is in excellent condition. There is no play in the steering. If you sneeze in an Evo on the freeway you'll change three lanes! It shifts perfectly, and pulls very hard from about 3000rpm. There are no leaks underneath the car. I know because I’ve been under it with a flashlight. The car does not shake or shimmy on the freeway or pull to one side. The tires have probably 80% of their tread. I have maintained it myself with oil changes, a transmission fluid change at 16000 miles and a front and rear diff fluid change at 20000 miles. The fluids that came out looked almost as good as the new that went in. But I did it anyway just to be sure of what is lubricating the car. I used Mitsubishi DiaQueen fluids as per the manual so as to maintain the warranty coverage. I have changed the engine oil every 2000 or so miles because I believe turbo cars like nice clean oil. Mobil 1 has always been used. The car uses no oil at these intervals. The tires were replaced by the original owner with Yokohama S Drive tires instead of the Yokohama Advans that come stock. He did this to get a bit better ride and longevity. My average mileage for has been 19.5mpg. I called Mitsubishi when I bought the car to make sure it had no track days or racing events in its history. It does not. The car comes with the original window sticker, all manuals and both sets of keys. I have the clear CA title in hand. Please email with any questions. Shipping must be paid by the buyer.
