Vehicle Detail
For sale is my '85 911 Targa. I bought the car a little over three years ago and have enjoyed it, but it is time to sell. I use the car as a weekend toy, but I think it could serve as a daily driver. The engine is very strong and I am not aware of any issues there. It pulls strong in every gear and stops good as well. The car shifts well in all gears with one exception. If you make a rapid shift from 2nd to 3rd there is a slight grind. There is no grind if you make a relaxed, normal shift. There are a few blemishes in the paint, which I tried to document in the photos, but overall it shines nicely and I get lots of compliments. The front of the hood has some chips & scratches, as shown in the photo, so I keep the bra on it all the time. I actually think the bra looks pretty good on the car. There are no significant dents or lengthy scratches. The targa top is in very nice shape. The interior has no tears; the driver seat has a popped seam near the shoulder, but that should be easy to repair. The dash and gauge cluster are in nice shape. All the gauges and power features work. The A/C has been coverted to R-134a and blows cold air when charged, but it may have a slow leak. You can charge it yourself with refrigerant cans you can buy at any auto parts store. The car never overheats, even in the hot Florida summers. In fact, the temp. gauge never gets up to the half-way mark. I have not had any major work done on the car in the time I have had it, but I have replaced the following items as preventive maintenance: ball joints, transmission mounts, engine hood support, clutch cable & pedal bushings, oil return tube. I also installed a nice stereo, speakers & amp. The previous owner had a performance exhaust installed for a little more power. I have records of all the work I have done, but not much prior to my ownership. I have always kept the car in my garage. If you are the winning bidder I will expect you to purchase the car for that price. Therefore I encourage serious buyers to contact me to see the car before bidding (I actually bought the car off ebay without seeing it first). I will be happy to answer any other questions. I will not ship the car.
