1958 STUDEBAKER SILVER HAWK NO RESERVE! Black Plate, Rust FreeThis is a rust free California car originally sold in Modesto. It remained with the same owner until her death in 1987 and has been maintained well since then. Recent maintenance includes new wheels, 225 60R15 tires, front end bushings, major tune up including coil, distributor overhaul and voltage regulator. The 289 cubic inch V8 starts effortlessly, runs very strong and cruises easily at freeway speeds with it's overdrive engaged. It maintains it's 4 barrel carburetor and "twin traction"--positraction. The factory order/build sheet pictured is included to show that the original equipment is still with the car as well as the California "pink" issued in 1962. It tracks and stops straight. It has been driven about 700 miles since it's last service in September. All gauges function as does the radio. A second FM radio is hidden in the glove box. The paint and brightwork is original except for the driver side fender, door and lower rear quarter. This area was involved in a side swipe accident in the 1980's and was repaired after an insurance company declared the car a total loss even though no frame or mechanical damage occurred. The cost of repair exceeded the value of the car in those days. Hence the DMV issued a salvage title at that time. There are minimal random chips in the paint but no large scratches and no dents. Chrome/stainless is good to very good, especially considering it's age.The door check on the driver door is missing .
