Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe 1966 Top of the line luxury coupe · Air conditioning · Power windows x 6 · Power locks · Power seat · Cruise control · AM/FM radio · 440 cu in big block motor with Torqueflight transmission This is a brilliant condition Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe showing 30,000 miles - pretty low for a 45 year old car, so who can tell if its real but you would be certainly excused in believing so! It comes from a private collection of classic automobiles. A Californian car when it was in regular use in its day, it is as clean as a whistle – a true survivor. It is primarily an original presenting example that has stunning road-side appeal. The car under-went a repaint some 10 years ago in its original colour. The paint is pretty good but not of show standard. It does have some blemishes as well as minor chips, scratches and marks from use and age but still presents consistent and shiny. There are some very minor rust bubbles but they are also minimal (see photos) which could easily be fixed for a few hundred dollars - nothing major. The body is otherwise very straight. Underneath the car is entirely rust free and is very dry and clean - all original. Even though the car has been located in the mid-west for several years it has never seen snow or salt or even rain. It remains part of a private collection and as such is professionally stored in a climate controlled facility. Chrome is good with a couple of blemishes in the rear bumper. The glass and all external finishes are excellent. The interior is excellent and presents absolutely stunningly. It is a major highlight of the car. The seats are a combination of dark emerald green genuine leather with a light sage green fabric insert - all factory specification. They are without any signs of wear or marks - the fabric inserts are perfect. Headlining is good with a couple of marks whilst the carpet literally like new. The dash has a cover because of some slight lifting near the windshield vents but otherwise good. The wood accents throughout (which are real veneers on this model) are generally good. The “jelly” green steering wheel is a gorgeous touch. The interior is a true credit to the car's maintenance and previous ownership. And also to the manufacturer. The wood and chrome combination of the dash layout, and the way it meets the two front doors, looks more like an up-scale hi-fi system of the 60s & 70s era (aka "Bang & Olufson") than it does a car dash board. The front door handles are just super cool! Electrics are good including the electric seat. All electric windows work well including the 1/4 vents on both front doors - 6 electric windows in total! Headlamps, exterior & interior lights, indicators, wipers, cigarette lighter all work well. Mechanically, the car is good with an impressive drive-feel and handling. It is clearly the evidence of a well maintained car. I recently compared the road-feel and driving of this Imperial with a similar year Cadillac of similar condition and this Crown beats its smoothness hands down! These Chryslers were grossly under-estimated and their drive and functionality, as well as their stately presentation, seems to have remained a secret given their lower sales popularity versus the Lincoln and Cadillacs of the era. Exhaust and tyres are good. This Chrsyler Imperial Crown coupe is simply a very cool and delightful highway cruiser. It is very quiet and delightfully smooth to drive. She really is gorgeous. Please feel free to make a sensible offer as she is to be sold! ~~ This Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe is by no means of show standard but just a very smart looking example of the era. Overall, it ranks a solid 7-out-of-10 with the interior taking on an exceptional 9. It would make a great summer driver but do not underestimate her - you could, without any doubt, drive this Crown AS-IS is to your next show or meet with pride. ~~ Many more photographs are available at the following link. Click HERE to see many additional photos! ~~oo00oo~~ This Chrysler is part of my private collection. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of classic cars (primarily British cars). I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder; please understand you have entered a binding contract. A $1000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit as well as any other part payments which may have been paid and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of classic cars, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of any older car is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next - the car is 4 years old after all. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-45 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I would not consider “driving it across the country”. I highly recommend you have it professionally shipped in an enclosed transporter to your location. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID. ~~oo00oo~~
