For sale: 2003 Land Rover Freelander in excellent condition with 91036 miles. It looks great, runs great, and gets good gas mileage for an SUV. The Freelander’s simple, practical yet classic design makes it perfect for long trips or just running errands around town. It’s easy to drive and easier to park given its compact size. Land Rover pioneered all terrain vehicles and the Freelander is the product of their effort to offer a modern, rugged, yet affordable All Wheel Drive (AWD) for contemporary use. Powered by a V-6 2.5 Liter DOHC engine with 5 speed automatic transmission, it has great acceleration and plenty of power. The AWD makes it wonderful for driving in winter. If you’re looking for a distinctive, compact SUV at an affordable price, this is it. We believe we’re the second private owner having purchased it off ebay from a dealer in early 2007 when it had about 47,000 miles. We’ve really enjoyed it but with five cars and only two drivers left in the household, it’s time to downsize. Reluctantly we’ve decided to part with our Land Rover. I could go on and on about what we liked about driving it but as with any used vehicle, potential buyers really want to know specifics of condition. Interior: The interior’s very clean and the front seats have been preserved with matching fabric cover. It came with an overhead mounted, aftermarket DVD player which may or may not work (we’ve never tested because the power cord plug needs to be replaced). The cargo floor area has been protected by a heavy duty aftermarket plastic cover. We’ll also include an extra new set of Land Rover factory floor mats with the purchase. The hinge for the center console cover is broken but still operates. The CD player works but occasionally skips tracks. Air conditioning/heater works fine. Exterior: The exterior is in great shape, no dents or dings. When not garaged we keep it under a $200 heavy duty custom formed car cover which is included in the purchase. The passenger side rear door does have one small scratch – not really noticeable unless you’re looking for it. The tires are Dunlop (must have British tires for a British vehicle) SP4000 A/S radials with about 30,000 miles of use (about 10,000 miles left). The wheels are bright silver alloy in great condition (see photo). Mechanics: Runs great - starts right up and drives fine. We replaced the timing belt as recommended by Land Rover at around 75,000 miles. We also replaced both front door power window regulators. Part of exhaust system is new. The oil is changed about every 5-6000 miles using Mobil-1 full synthetic as recommended by the manufacturer. Just passed Northern VA state emissions test.
