Vehicle Detail
1970 Dodge POWER WAGON Styleside W-100 1/2 ton 4x4 w/4-speed ALL BUYERS please note: This will be the only time that I list this truck for sale. We really, really like this truck and don't need to sell it, so if it doesn't go during this auction we'll gladly keep it, drive it, and enjoy it some more. This is a one time, 10 day auction. It will not be relisted for sale and it will be removed from resale market. I will not end auction early so please don't ask. No buy it-now-either. So if you decide that you really want it, please know that this auction will be your only opportunity. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION at a SUPER LOW STARTING BID. Please bid to own and only if you plan on following through with the purchase. There is a lot of info here so PLEASE READ IT ALL BEFORE BIDDING. This will no doubt eliminate many of your questions. Thanks! Rare truck with ALL ORIGINAL: sheetmetal - (A/C is vintage aftermarket R134a and it works GREAT) - big block 383 c.i. - 4 barrel QuadraJet - 4 speed manual - Part time 4-wheel drive with manual locking hubs 2H-4H-4L transfer case. Odometer showing 31,300 miles (but AZ MVD is unable to verify this as actual). ALL ORIGINAL SHEETMETAL with NO BODY DAMAGE. This has been a dry, southern AZ truck it's whole life. Set up for towing with vintage adjustable outside mirrors (will slide in or out), and heavy duty rear hitch. Some added extras are: Coil over shocks in rear that work excellent. Vintage CB radio still works. CD am/fm stereo added. Vintage gun rack on rear window. Cowboy hat holder in ceiling. Tooled leather headliner looks AWESOME. '80's vintage Dodge Ram's head mounted on hood. Side reflectors added at rear of bed for safety. Very nice custom interior upper shelf houses CB and additional speakers. This shelf is felt lined and looks like something Dodge should have included as standard equipment when new as it works great and looks excellent. This is a great place for your wallet, CD's, sunglasses, etc: very functional. Teak wood mounted speakers on either floor kick panel look great, sound good, and are unobtrusive. Divorced (separated) transfer case. See data plate info below. 4 BRAND NEW 32x11.5x15 BFG Radial All-Terrains on BRAND NEW 10" wide polished alum rims. Non matching spare. Fire extinguisher mounted on steps by spare. Truck originally came with an anemic 318 1-bbl but was replaced with a very nice vintage 383 4-bbl Mopar big-block. Original Dodge 4-bbl iron intake and iron exhaust manifolds. Dual exhaust with glass packs are quiet but sound great. Motor starts very easily, warms up quickly, and runs great. QuadraJet carb works perfectly. Motor runs very cool even here in AZ and will not overheat. NO CRACKS in original dash or door side panels. Vintage dash saver did just what it was supposed to do. MINT condition original rubber floor covering. All 3 original foot pedal rubbers (brake, clutch, gas) are excellent and NOT cracked. All window glass is excellent with no cracks or chips, all lights - switches, everything works great. Windows roll up/down freely and side wind wings work great and do NOT whistle. All chrome is decent. Rear tailgate is all original and in surprisingly good shape; opens and closes easily and not beat up at all. Wooden rails on either side top of bed are for protection and are NOT bolted down; easily removed if so desired. Top of side bed rails not drilled into and still look great. NO rust in wheel wells or frame anywhere. Super dry condition, no damage, and all original. Front stainless grill is in mint shape. Tall final gearing with close ratio 4-speed trans allows truck to cruise at 80-90mph with no problem. 4 barrel 383 has lots of power and accelerates briskly. Truck drives down the road very straight and very nice. By far, this is one of the best driving vintage trucks I've ever owned. This could EASILY be your daily driver. Lots of stares and smiles from people and kids pointing at it when you're out and about. It's a real blast to drive as it steers and brakes excellent. My wife actually used this for a while as her daily driver and she loved it. Even though it does not have PS or PB, it's actually quite easy to steer and brake. I just changed the oil & filter so it's ready for you to FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. No problem driving this truck cross country, in fact I would recommend that you do! Original door panels, dash, steering wheel, all excellent. No cuts in metal door panels: all original and excellent condition. Original wooden slats in bed are beginning to sun rot and have been covered by plywood for protection from our brutal AZ sun. Front painted & rear chrome bumpers are original and in great shape. Please look at photos carefully. ABSOLUTELY NO BODY DAMAGE ANYWHERE--no dings; just minor scratches in paint here & there. A/C blows cold and works great. Heater works great. CD stereo sounds good with 4 speakers. Vintage CB still works great. Engine runs great but I am beginning to hear the sound of a minor exhaust leak from passenger side exhaust manifold? Transmission shifts smoothly in and out of all 5 gears. Clutch is excellent and quite easy to disingage. Transfer case is excellent and hubs lock in and out esily. I am listing everything I know. It is definitely nice enough to just keep it the way it is and drive and enjoy. ONLY ISSUES THAT I KNOW OF: Original black nylon material bench seat (underneath aftermarket cover) is beginning to tear in a few places, but with cover in place seat feels good. Seat belts for 2. Looks like original rubber weather stripping around doors are getting dry but still function well. Paint looks to be original but is oxidized; still looks really nice and I would NOT repaint it. I call the truck rust free but there is some very slight paint bubbling at cab junction both sides and at bottom of driver door, so please be aware of that. NO RUST at typical windshield drains on firewall !! Please look at photos carefully. These trucks were really prone to rust and this one is a solid truck in great condition. If you're a Mopar guy like me I'm sure you're aware of how hard it is to find an original W-100 4x4 styleside in any condition, let alone one like this. This is a very cool truck all done up in vintage old-school style. Put some rifles in that back rack, dust off your cowboy hat and boots, and you'll be styling in this vintage AZ desert rig!! Mike @ 623-465-0636 Clear and notorized AZ title ready to transfer to new owner (you). Bill of sale supplied if so desired. New River is located only 30 miles north of downtown PHOENIX just off the I-17 fwy. THANKS FOR LOOKING GUYS! On May-01-11 at 10:26:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been getting lot's of calls & emails regarding buyer flying in and driving it home. I'd be happy to meet new buyer at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport with the truck, but keep in mind that truck will NOT have a license plate on it (in AZ plates stay with person, not vehicle). Also, you might want to add up the cost of airfare into Phoenix, the ridiculously high price of fuel right now, and the fact that you will be driving a 41 YEAR OLD truck CROSS COUNTRY. If you are a disciple of the Murphy Gods (like me) then you can GUARANTEE something going wrong on your trip home. Most likely you'd be fine, but keep in mind that it would be you (not me) getting stuck out in the middle of Foomanchu because of some unforseen problem. Because of this, I might recommend you call Terry @ Classic Auto Transport for a quote. He has been involved in the last 4 out of 5 vehicle transports for me and so far no problems. He is a good communicator and I can tell he takes his business (and customer satisfaction) very seriously. Call him at 913-749-0931 Also, in my longing to overload all of my auctions with way too much info, I forgot to mention that even though the transmission shifts up-down-in & out of all gears just fine, every now and then she acts up and gets a bit stubborn into 2nd or 3rd. Does not happen every time, in fact it's kind of rare when it does. Sometimes it's 2nd, sometimes it's 3rd. I guess it just depends on her mood that day. Double clutching seems to fix it when it does happen, but I've also found that talking nice to her when you first fire her up first thing in the morning seems to help as well. This really is a great truck and someone is going to have a lot of fun with her. We're really sorry to see her go. On May-03-11 at 10:15:18 PDT, seller added the following information: If you are a zero (0) feedback (new) bidder with ebay I will cancel your bid unless you CALL ME FIRST @ (623) 465-0636. Sorry, but there are way too many scammers and non-paying bidder flakes on ebay now.
