1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SEL Sedan VIN: WDBCA39D4GA222738 +++ Clean AUTOCHECK Report +++ Here’s another rare time-capsule Mercedes we’ve acquired for our great eBay customers. From the moment I first laid eyes on this exceptional sedan, it was obvious that it’s received the utmost respect and care. How could it not when it’s averaged less than 7,500 miles per year since new? Barrier Motors, our regions premier Benz dealer, sold this car new in September, 1986 to the owner of a local furniture factory. Back in late ’01 my good friend Jerry Thompson then resold it to another long-term owner. He documented every oil change over the past decade (including the brand of lubricant used ) right down to the time it came to us. I’ll pass along all of the factory books and service records you see in the photos as well. Reluctantly, the 560 SEL was traded-in a short time ago and then turned over to us for resale to a lucky new owner. Please contact MARK here at BEST AUTO with any questions. My direct phone number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment during business hours to inspect this outstanding car. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION Ever driven one of these Mercedes with the powerful 5.6 liter engine? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway, too. Comfort, style, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. I’ve always considered these cars constructed in the late 80’s through the early 90’s as the last of the hand-built, truly high-quality Mercedes and have heard many others say the same thing! Take a look at the photos and I’m sure you’ll agree with me what a find this is. What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only! “Time capsule” really is a great way to describe this car. The gray leather upholstery is clean and soft (no breakdown of the seat springs either). No dash cracks and really nice interior wood trim. It’s obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall exterior condition is superior. Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this Benz hates rust and you won’t find anything to worry about here. Yes, our Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never, ever salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Climb over, under and around this car, I’m convinced you’ll come up smiling!! Hop in and fire up the powerful 5.6 liter V-8 engine and it starts immediately! The automatic transmission shifts strongly and just as it should. Having personally owned more than twenty Benz models over the years, I’ve developed a great appreciation for the Mercedes style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience. THIS CAR RUNS AS SMOOTH AS SILK. I’VE NEVER DRIVEN A 126 MODEL OF ANY VARIANT THAT RUNS BETTER!! I’m convinced you’ll be proud to own and drive it. This car has a squeaky-clean AUTOCHECK Report and fully qualifies for their PURCHASER BUYBACK GUARANTEE. This means there’s NO history of accidents, flood damage, salvage, rebuilds, odometer rollback or other nasty negatives to cause you concern! There are also no open recalls. As a respected Ebay seller with many, many satisfied online buyers, I want you to bid with confidence knowing that this Mercedes runs and drives as it should AND that it is being properly represented to you! CONDITION: In total, this is an exceptionally clean, well cared for, smoke-free Mercedes. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about the car as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also things needing attention: All the glass is in great shape. The car idles, runs and drives as it should – strong oil pressure, strong battery and charging system, no overheating, no brake pull or alignment issues! I’ve driven it many miles over the past week and freeway cruised at 75 MPH. The factory paint is in very good overall condition and still holds quite a shine. I find NO fading or rust spots. Great chrome and exterior trim all around, too! The front fenders, doors, rear quarters and floorpans are all solid, in fact the entire undercarriage is in great condition for a 25 year-old car! The factory alloy wheels are straight and true. They’re wrapped with almost new 205/65R15 radials still having at least 70% life remaining. Take another good look at the interior photos. The upholstery is all-original with the pictures giving a very accurate view of its clean, soft condition. Often, you’ll find worn springs and disintegrating cushion material on these cars. This is NOT the case here. Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these firm seats for hours. Look at the shots of the exceptionally clean carpets. They’ve always been protected with factory mats that will be included. The heater and A/C system work great. The dash gauges and exterior lights are bright and true. The former owner was wise in changing out the original factory AM-FM Becker stereo for the Alpine CD model presently in place (I don’t know why, but it seems Daimler can’t ever install a decent radio from the factory in any of its cars and the first thing I usually do is have them upgraded). The jack, spare and factory tools are all in the trunk. About the only negative I can think to point out is the sunroof doesn’t want to open or close and could use some cable adjustment. We’re always very happy to work with any shipper you choose, but you’re also welcome to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to Seattle (I’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start a road trip home the same day! I wouldn’t hesitate (and in fact, I encourage you) to drive cross-country in this car! Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to stop by, inspect the Mercedes at our location and take it for a test drive. Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, we reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of five or fewer purchases on Ebay contact me before placing their bid. Finally, we reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to here before the end of the auction period. Note to Bidders: Rest assured, we will NEVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of Ebay rules and Federal Law)! Please feel free to contact me directly thru Ebay’s system or, as outlined above, call me at 206/914-1173 anytime. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. We can accept PAYPAL, but only for the deposit amount because of the high fees they charge. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you do decide to have the car shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up here in Kenmore, WA would be 98028 to get an instant on-line quote from either source. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. Make sure you inquire with your shipper about insurance coverage on the vehicles they transport. The vehicle can be stored free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after the auction ends. After that period storage is $20 per day. We are open for vehicle pickup 10 am – 6 pm everyday. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.9% sales tax, document, transfer and registration fees. Residents of any other state will pay only a $50 document fee. Because the Mercedes is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington. Whew! Don’t you just love legalese?
