Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1974 Chevelle Malibu Classic. PS, PB. I aquired this car thru my buddies divorce and it was not running. I am not a Chevy fan per se, but I have dumped a lot of money into this car to get it working. OK to describe the car. When I got the car it had a non-running 350ci with a slipping (I found out later) 350 turbo trans. First thing I did was replace the engine with a 400ci small block from a 1979 GMC 3/4 pick up (and some cool chrome pieces and a real nice Edlebrock breather) and got the thing running. After that, the aforementioned 350 turbo trans slipped when switching gears at higher RPMs. So now it has a newly and professionally rebuilt 400 turbo trans with shift kit hooked up to the very stout 400ci small block. A new balanced driveshaft and front yoke were needed too because of course the old one wouldn't fit. I also had installed the following: New radiator and hoses, brand new headers and 3" dual exhaust, new brakes and brake lines, new shocks and springs (Heavy coil-overs on the rear). Its got some nice aluminum slots on all four corners, with 15" tires in the rear and 14s" in the front. I had to replace the windshield because it was cracked. Both front floorboards were replaced due to rust and new carpet covers the interior. Also a new great looking new dash. The 120mph speedometer was bad looking and the mileage was over 72000 when it quit working. I don't know how long that has been. I replaced the speedometer with a nicer looking, but only 100 mph speedo and I think it's a little off over 55mph. I also installed a nice working tach, and oil pressure/water temp/amp guages. OK, what the car could still use: The trunk is rusted out pretty bad and there is no rear window dash. No radio. The driver side quarter panel is dented and the chrome trim is broken. There is some rust on each quarter. Half the piece between the bumper and back end of car is missing. Front seat has a tear, and the passenger seatbelt lock is broke. (Look at all the pix) This car just needs a little more tlc to be pretty nice. It might make someone a nice daily driver or a cool reminder of the past at the strip. It turns a lot of heads when I cruise it and will smoke the tires with very little effort. I personally have about $5000.00 into this $2500.00 dollar car. (Laugh now) But once I got going it just needed more stuff to make it driveable for the street. Do I think I have a $5000. dollar car or that I will get that much? No. But I would not hesitate at this point to drive this car anywhere. And being a Mopar guy, I would be willing to "exchange" for something in the 1967 - 1974 range of a Dodge or Plymouth with equal value and condition, or a later model Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 4x4 with a snow plow. The original 350 ci engine and 350 turbo trans are available with the car for the asking. This is a no reserve auction, but I do reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale or traide locally as well. Delivery is pick up only or maybe a "meet" can be worked out. $500 dollars down through paypal within 48 hrs of close of auction. The rest in cash before title is signed over. There is NO warranty implied or givin with this car. Ask any questions before you bid.
