Vehicle Detail
One of the nicest 2nd generation Blazer's anyone will find. Purchased new at Fred Bauer Chevrolet here in Portland Oregon on April 14th, 1978. The original license plates and dealer frames are still in-place. Two owners since new and always maintained to high standards. I have the original owners manual, warranty info, inspection form, multiple sets of original keys and receipts for all recent mechanical upgrades. The original black paint, all body panels, interior and drivetrain are excellent. Even if I said nothing more you be able to form a clear opinion for yourself after the first few photos. For those that prefer more details, here they are: Based on statements shared with me by the previous owner and my own close scrutiny of the exterior, the paint is the original General Motors applied finish. The body and paint condition is impressive. Never damaged and all panels line up beautifully. One of the most rust-free examples anyone will find. The paints holds a very high shine and gloss with clear reflections everywhere you look. No rust and no dents. Any paint blemish is very minor and only visible on very close inspection. Chrome bumpers, stainless trim and all exterior moldings are outstanding. All glass is also excellent with the exception of one small rock chip in the windshield. The entire grille area is mint. The truck shows and presents itself extremely well. Overwhelming compliments every time I open my garage and she deserves all of them. Just a gorgeous Blazer. The interior is near perfection. Seats, carpet, headliner, door panels and entire dashboard are MINT. Even the cargo area is amazing. One look through an open window is all the convincing it will take. All trim and brightwork are excellent. Every knob and switch functions properly. Absolutely everything works perfectly. All lights, gauges, delay wipers, heater, horn, radio, etc, operate flawlessly. One of the finest interiors you'll see. There are no excuses to make. The mechanical upgrades are incredible and all documented. The 350-V8 engine with Vortec heads has been completely rebuilt to exact standards. Roller rocker assembly and timing chain. Hardened valves for unleaded fuel. All balanced. Edelbrock intake and carburetor. A clear photo of receipts and build spec's is shown below. The transmission and transfer case has also been completely rebuilt (receipt provided). New Warn locking hubs. Differentials gone through as well. All work performed within the last 15,000 miles. Nearly $9,000 invested in mechanical upgrades. The power steering and brakes have been updated to the heavy-duty hydra-boost system and the Bridgestone tires are almost brand new. She starts, runs, accelerates and handles beautifully. No rattles or vibrations. Truly a "turn-key" vehicle in every way. Needs nothing to travel any distance at any speed. The drivetrain is incredible and matches the condition of the rest. I will make brief comments under some of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable as I've rotated through and sold members of my collection over the years. I'm grateful for the kind remarks I've received. My opinions and observations have served me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and they may differ from your own. I welcome and encourage showing my Blazer in person to anyone with genuine interest. My home is only 15 minutes away from the Portland Oregon Airport and I would gladly pick you up. There are around 75 pictures to view and they show her clearly from every angle. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Wednesday evening, the 27th of April, at 7:30PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and she becomes no longer available. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my Blazer auction. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see the day before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in anyway. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any question you might have. Thanks for your time, DAVE All glass is excellent. The rear window rolls up and down perfectly. It does have slight superficial scratches that are only visible in the right light. They are very minor. NOT a scratch on the door near the bottom of the window. Just a reflection from the mirror. The little streaks above the side trim near the tail light was just water. The little speck's are NOT paint flaws. Only dust on my glossy paint. This photo is an example of how clear all of my pictures are. Original license plates and dealer frames. That's me in the reflection on the very front of the fender. Hello. The black paint really does show clear reflections. There are NO dents. Grille, bumper and all trim are outstanding. Every piece of original side molding is MINT. Getting down on your knees and sighting along the sides is impressive. Incredibly straight. No waviness or washboard effect. Rear bumper and tailgate trim panel are excellent. Again, all wheel-lip and side moldings are gorgeous. The only tiny paint chips worth mentioning are down very low behind each front tire. Only visible from this angle. Rears have always had mud flaps. I removed them. I'm not an old fart yet. She is one of the best anyone will find. When I said all lights I meant all lights! Even the license plate and back-up's. Always kept in my garage. No written words needed. No excuses required. The interior is amazing. Both door panels are perfect and look new. Entire dashboard area is pristine. Original carpet has always been protected by mats. Rear seat has never been used. Even the rear passenger area of the carpet has always been covered by a mat. It was ugly so I removed it. No one ever sits back here. The factory center console/storage compartment is showroom perfect. She has never been driven with the top off. Every gauge functions accurately. RPM's at warm idle. RPM's at 70 miles per hour. Oil pressure at running temp idle. Oil pressure at 1500rpm. Needle goes to near max at higher rpm. Although she could certainly pass for 32,000 original miles, the correct reading is really 132,893. Tailgate is in excellent shape. Cargo area shows very little use and only clean use. The spare tire is original. Never on the ground. They are very rarely found like this. Even the inner jambs and latching areas are solid. That is sunlight on the left wheeel hump, NOT faded carpet. Engine details are itemized on the recept pictured below. All rebuilt 15,000 miles ago. Runs and performs superbly!! Upgraded power steering and brake systems. The undersides are what we pray to find. Completely RUST-FREE. Never exposed to salted roads or harsh de-icer chemicals. The undercarriage is excellent. Transfer case stampings. Even all of the inner fenders and the backsides of all body panels are gorgeous. Floors are also perfect, of course. Inner wheel wells, etc, are all excellent. These are included if the next owner wants them. This is a set of 4 mounted studded snow tires and Factory Chevrolet 4X4 Rally wheels. The rims, caps and rings are excellent and the tires are almost new. Used very little. I thought it would be nice to have them but she is WAY to nice to drive in snow and ice Very capable if you wish. Organized 3-ring binder of original documents and receipts for the mechanical upgrades. This receipt does NOT include the cost of the engine itself, just install labor and transmission/transfer case rebuild, etc... Engine build cost as described in previous 2 photos. Yes, your first impression is correct. She is that nice. A wonderful example of a well cared for and loved original kept Blazer. Thanks again, DAVE _____________________________________________________ Terms of Sale: 33yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my car honestly and to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic vehicles. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Blazer and to my knowledge everything is in excellent working order per my written description above. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive her anywhere but she is 33 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase please come see the car for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I will gladly provide contact information for the transporter I use and trust and your request. They have moved members of my collection with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast enclosed transport is around $1500.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
