Vehicle Detail
Purchased new in California and came to Oregon in 2010. Garage kept since day-one. Traveled only 33,000 miles since new. Very well maintained and serviced. Never damaged or smoked in. As a life-long lover and 25 year collector of specialty automobiles, I have appreciation for originality and condition. This Jaguar fits well within my window of interest. My collection consists of primarily American auto's from the 1960's through the early 70's. I stumbled on this car locally and had to have it. The car was looked over by the Jaguar dealer here in Portland and received a clean bill of health. Any discovered issue was rectified. I'll itemize those routine repairs below. Body, paint, convertible top, interior and mechanical components are all in excellent shape. Even if I said nothing more you'd be able to form a clear impression of the car for yourself after the first few photos. For those that prefer more detailed information, here it is: The body and paint are exceptional. The car has never been exposed to harsh weather or road conditions. There is only one minor flaw to mention. There is a scratch on the drivers side that occured when near new (close-up photo shown). The paint holds an extremely high shine and gloss. The cloth convertible top is perfect. All exterior chrome, trim, moldings, lenses, etc, are excellent and the glass is perfect. She presents her care and condition very well. A fine, low mileage example. Simply a beautiful car. The interior requires no excuses or explanation. All aspects of the interior show very little use. The leather is still soft. Carpet, door panels and dashboard area also show little to no wear. All wood trim and in-lays are excellent. Every switch and knob functions correctly. All power options such as windows, seats and top operate as intended. The climate control system blows both hot and cold. The original stereo stopped working so I had it replaced with a factory correct unit at the Jag dealer. I also had a power window switch and relay replaced. Even the original canvas top boot cover is excellent. The car is mechanically very sound. The V-12 engine performs superbly. She starts easily even after sitting in the garage for extended periods. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Brakes and tires have been replaced fairly recently and I just had the wheel bearings serviced and a full alignment done. There are no repairs currently needed. She is up to date on service. The car can be driven any distance without concern. I will make a handful of brief comments under some of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable as I've rotated through and sold members of my collection. I am grateful for the kind remarks I've received. My opinions and observations have always served me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and they may differ from your own. I welcome and encourage showing my Jaguar in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. There are about 100 pictures to view and I apologize if you get dizzy going through all of them. Each photo shows the car clearly and accurately. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Monday evening, the 25th of April at 8PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the car becomes no longer available. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way.NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my Jaguar. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see one week before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thanks for your time, DAVE Heading into Downtown Portland the day I took these pictures. The convertible top is perfect. The power top feature functions flawlessly. The canvas boot is in excellent condition. I took an extreme close-up photo of this scratch on the drivers side above the rear tire. It is only visible on very close inspection. I do have the small bottle of factory touch-up paint in the glovebox but wanted to show this flaw clearly. This is the edge of the drivers door. This minor flaw is from the previous owner opening the door and lightly rubbing the side of her husbands Mercedes in the garage. Again, only visible on extremely close inspection. Can be completely rectified with the factory touch-up paint but I didn't want to hide anything. The interior is outstanding. Even the original fog lamps still work. They have always been protected by the factory covers. All of the wood in-lay is in beautiful condition. One or two photos show reflections that might be mistaken for cracks. The wood trim is all excellent. Full power and heated seats. Never smoked in. The cigarette lighter has not been used. Yes, these are the actual miles. No service or check lights are on. Trunk area still appears in near new condition. The engine compartment has NOT been pressure washed or steam cleaned. It is simply very low mileage with good care and maintenance. Photo of backside of rear bumper. Yes, the car is that clean throughout. Lightly undercoated when new and spent almost it's entire life in Southern California and has never seen rain in Oregon. The undersides are in wonderful condition. This car always parks in the same spot in my garage. Only a very slight oil drip can be found after sitting. VIN stickers are present on all appropriate body panels. This photo is of the passenger front fender. The owners handbook, radio manual and factory touch-up paint are still in the glovebox. Terms of Sale: 19yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my car honestly and to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic cars. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Jaguar and to my knowledge everything is in excellent working order per my written description above. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive this car anywhere but she is almost 20 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the car for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I have been using the same transport company for several years and they have handled my transport needs perfectly with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will gladly provide contact information for them at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast enclosed transport is around $1500.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUSTcontact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD . On Apr-24-11 at 18:54:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional information I appreciate the positive response my Jaguar has received. After answering a very nice question regarding the scratch above the left rear tire and a comment made by a close friend of mine that has seen my car in-person several times, I thought I should clarify this flaw. My friend said, "Dave, until I saw the photo in your auction I didn't know the scratch was there". I took an extreme close-up photo of that blemish that occured years ago and noted it in my main description above as an imperfection. My high resolution photo makes that mark look more severe than it is. I also didn't think I had that much hair on the back of my hand which is visible in that picture as well. In person, the scratch is there but very difficult to see. I hope this was helpful, DAVE
