This beautiful Fairlane was my wife's grandmother's car. We bought the car from her in 1985 and it has been garaged most of its life. The car was bought new in Rome, Georgia, and has been in the South for all but 1 year. It is in excellent condition physically and mechanically. Has the great Ford 289 v-8, automatic transmission, standard brakes, standard steering, original radio, original upholstery, replacement carpet (same color as original), new headliner in original color. The car is repainted but still in original yellow and the little "dings" were taken out and the bumpers rechromed in 2001. This car drives straight and true, has four Michelin radials on it (less than 2000 miles on them), and loves the highway. The radio works fine, windows work smoothly, all door hardware is original works well, doors are tight for a car this age and I put in new door seals (OEM). The front end has new steering knuckles and tie rods, good exhaust system, and mechanically sound. The trunk has the original jack assembly, a spare, original trunk mat. The car runs great and drives very well! The dome light has stopped working a long time ago and the back seat upholstery has one tiny, round cig. burn in it from the 1960s! (There is no smell.) We are anxious to sell this car--our son drove this car during grad school and we promised him that the money from the sale would become part of a wedding gift for him. Well, they have been married 3 years and he is headed to doctoral work and it's time for me to make good on the promise. When I take "yellow belle" for a drive, I always get "thumbs-up," lots of comments, and questions. This car is a real head-turner! It now has just over 119K original miles on it, has been cared for by a very fine mechanic, and is just a great, old car. Winning bidder is responsible to make pick up arrangements.
