Vehicle Detail

1970 Dodge Power Wagon W-200 Heavy Duty 3/4 ton 4x4 w/4-speed ALL BUYERS please note: This is the first time that this truck has been available for sale since new in 1970, and will also be the last time as well. I really like this truck and I don't need to sell it, so if it doesn't go during this auction I will gladly keep it, drive it, and enjoy it. This is a one time, 10 day auction. It will not be relisted for sale and I will remove it from the resale market. I will not end auction early so please don't ask. No buy it-now-either. So if you decide that you really want it, please know that this auction will be your only opportunity. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION at a SUPER LOW STARTING BID. Please bid to own and only if you plan on following through with the purchase. There is a lot of info here so PLEASE READ IT ALL BEFORE BIDDING. This will no doubt eliminate many of your questions. Thanks! Rare truck PURCHASED FROM ORIGINAL ELDERLY OWNER with ALL ORIGINAL: paint & sheetmetal - PB - (A/C is vintage aftermarket) - big block 383 c.i. - 2 barrel Carter - 4 speed manual - Part time 4-wheel drive with manual locking hubs 2H-4H-4L transfer case - Dana 60 axles front & rear- stock ride height (not lifted) - big brakes - 8 lug steel wheels & original stainless caps- all the heavy duty stuff. 86,079 original miles. ALL ORIGINAL PAINT & SHEETMETAL with ALMOST NO RUST and NO BODY DAMAGE. This has been a dry, rust free southern AZ truck it's whole life. Both the Az title and stickers on fenders designate this truck as a heavy duty W-200 with 10,000 GVWR. Set up for towing with vintage adjustable outside mirrors (will slide in or out), vintage brake controller, and rear mud flaps. These mud flaps are removable, and are also lockable in place so they can't be stolen. Some added extras are: Three (3) FUEL TANKS (original behind seat) and 2 more saddle tanks of approx. 15 gals ea. Toggle lever on floor near seat controls flow and it works great. All tanks function properly and don't leak. Heavy duty steel rear bumper and hitch included. Rear removable rock/mud flaps included. Looks like original shocks? and they still work well with good dampening. Vintage CB radio still works. KC style spotlights on front bumper still work. Extra towing side mirrors added. Vintage aluminum window shades on sides and rear are very cool and totally old school; still function up and down when needed. Vintage cassette am/fm stereo added. Vintage aftermarket tachometer. Vintage altimeter on ceiling of cab above rear view mirror. Vintage gun rack on rear window. All switches, guages on dash, and lights function properly. Divorced (separated) transfer case. See data plate info below. If you are a Mopar guy like me, you know what you're looking at. I'm sure you're aware of how hard it is to find an all original and unmodified W-200 4x4 regular cab long box in any condition, let alone one like this and with these options and rust free original condition. Please look at photos carefully: YOU CAN STILL SEE THE ORIGINAL assembly line black grease mark codes hand written under hood, on firewall, in wheel wells, etc. When was the last time you saw a vintage Dodge 4x4 with all of those still present? 4 NEW YOKOHAMA all-terrain tires on original 16.5" steel wheels. 'Dog dish' center caps are excellent. No spare. Motor starts easily and runs great. Original bench seat interior is excellent and in original VERY COOL plaid design. NO CRACKS in dash or side panels, as it still has it's vintage dash saver and it did just what it was supposed to do. MINT condition original rubber floor covering. All 3 original foot pedal rubbers (brake, clutch, gas) are excellent and NOT cracked. All window glass good with no cracks or chips, all lights - switches, work great. All chrome is decent. Looks like original Dodge paint pin stripes on side fenders are still there. Original paint and sheetmetal in bed has scratches and dings as should be expected with surface rust only. Rear tailgate is all original and in surprisingly good shape; opens and closes easily. Truck drives down the road nicely. All stock and original exhaust. All original seats and cover/material is excellent with one very minor 'L' shaped hole where drivers back rests. Original headliner excellent. Original door panels, dash, steering wheel, all excellent. Please look at photos carefully. I have shown all body damage I could find (which is next to none); minor scratches or tiny dings here & there. A/C does not blow cold. Engine runs great but I'm not a mechanic. I am listing everything I know but if you restore this truck (I wouldn't---it's only original once) be prepared to find more things wrong; it's a given. But, it's nice enough to keep the way it is and just drive it and enjoy it. THINGS IT WILL NEED: Weather stripping around doors and rear window have seen their better days and are ready to be replaced. Brakes are soft but still work well. Otherwise this is a 'drive and enjoy' rig ready to go. Paint is all original and is oxidized. I call the truck rust free because I could find NO CANCER, but there is some surface rust where paint is missing, so please be aware of that. This is a very cool truck all done up in vintage old-school style. Put some guns in that back rack, dust off your cowboy hat and boots, and you'll be styling in this vintage AZ desert rig!! On Apr-13-11 at 08:49:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been getting some great emails from a very knowledgeable vintage Dodge truck hobbyist & enthusiast. I've been informed that the transmission ordered in this truck is the very rare CLOSE RATIO 4 speed, not the much more common wide ratio. Also, the options section of data plate has the words T/C LOCK which turns out to be a throttle control 'T' handle located in lower dash area left of steering wheel (see photo) which allows for warm up of a cold engine, and also for increasing the engine RPM's if ever a PTO winch might get installed by owner. I went out and tried it, and lo and behold it is still hooked up and it works great. Pull it out and at any engine RPM you then twist it to 'lock' the engine at that RPM until you release it and push it back it. Engine then returns to normal idle speed. Pretty dang cool. Thanks for all the info John. On Apr-14-11 at 09:01:06 PDT, seller added the following information: First of all let me say that SPARE TIRE is PRESENT under rear of bed and IS INCLUDED. I'm trying not to overload this listing with too much info, but I'm getting questions from purists who want to know about the hand written crayon/grease markings that I've mentioned above. So here you go. Underneath hood by original jack storage sticker: L-5731 On left (driver's side) firewall: C3 Behind left headlight on inner panel: it's obscured and I can't read it but it appears to be a combo of around 5-6 digits/letters. Stamped metal tag riveted to left side firewall reads: 6198 I have more photos of underside which I cannot add here as ebay has closed that option to me at this point in the auction. Please email me if you want to see them. Also, front diff. may be a Dana 44 and not 60 like stated above.
