1958 Ford Thunderbird convertible- the first of the “Square Birds!” I am selling this beautiful red 1958 Ford Thunderbird convertible for an 87 year old friend who needs to reduce his car collection. Showing 49,000 miles on the odometer, this is an older restoration performed over the course of several years by the owner, a longtime Ford restorer. Once restored, it saw limited duty as a cruiser and show car. As the owner’s health has declined, it has seen very moderate use over the past five years. The owner is very meticulous with his cars, so this has always been very well maintained. This is a very desirable car, equipped with Ford’s 300 horse power 352 CID V-8 coupled with an automatic transmission. Befitting a fine boulevard cruiser, it has both power steering and power brakes to make driving a pleasure. The top is also power, and is mechanical marvel in action. With room for four in the two-toned red and white interior, this rare 1958 Ford Thunderbird convertible is the cure for the winter-time blues! Many people have been asking for pictures of the floor. I’m not a Thunderbird guy, so I don’t know some of the things that concern collectors. The owner, who has had the car for 30 years, reported that he did not replace the floors or patch any panels while restoring the car. He also wanted me to mention that the entire front and rear suspension was rebuilt, as was the steering. He is uncertain about the engine and transmission being matching units, but they were the ones in the car when he bought it. This is the third listing for this car.
