1979 Mercedes-Benz 300D 3.0 Diesel Motor 174K Miles Automatic 1979 Mercedes Benz 300D in very nice condition. It has the non-turbo 3.0 inline 5 cylinder diesel motor. Runs and drives great! New glow plugs upgraded to the Bosch fast-glow pencil type plugs. Mechanically in very good condition. Starts, stops, shifts, and drives extremely nice. Same owner for the past 25 years. This car has been very well cared for. All four power windows work perfectly. All buttons and switches work correctly. The original Becker radio is still in place and works. All exterior lights work perfectly. All gauges work perfectly. Four matching tires with good tread. The original spare tire and tool kit are still in place. The climate control system and blower fan are working correctly, the air conditioning is still the original R12 system and works, but, it is not blowing as cold as it should. It should probably be upgraded to a 134a system. The body is in very nice condition with a few small door dings associated with 30 years of use. There is a small amount of easily repaired surface rust on the passenger side front fender (see close up picture). The interior is incredible with just a little damage to the driver’s seat bolster and some wrinkling on the interior door window trims (see pictures) Overall this is an extremely well cared for car that can be driven anywhere. These old MB diesels are getting hard to find in this condition. If you are local to the Loveland/Fort Collins, CO area inspections are welcome. Please email any questions.
