1980 Mercedes Benz 450 SLC Coupe VIN: WDB10702412030573 Backed by the AutoCheck Clean Title Buy-Back Guarantee Here’s another increasingly rare, nice running Mercedes coupe we’ve just acquired last week for our eBay customers. This 450 SLC represents the zenith of the 107 series cars that Daimler Benz began producing in the early 1970’s and exporting to the USA. The quality and detail of these classic two-doors, combined with the rugged, powerful durability of the 4.5-liter dual overhead cam V-8 drive train make them among the best and most iconic models ever to come from the Fatherland. We don’t know where this rig sold new originally but it has spent a considerable amount of its life driving our salt-free Pacific Northwest roads. The most recent local small-town owner drove it sparingly for more than a decade with the result that it has accumulated less than 4,350 miles per year since new. As the AutoCheck Report included here with our Ebay listing shows, there is NO history of any accidents, title issues or other nasty negatives to cause you concern with this clean, great driving boulavard crusier! Please contact me here at BEST AUTO with any questions. My name is Mark Thompson and my direct number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment during business hours to inspect and test-drive this fine car. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: Ever spent an afternoon driving a classy, vintage Mercedes Benz? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway. Comfort, styling, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. For my money, these Coupes are one of the best values for the overall driving experience that a vintage Benz has to offer. Look over my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree what a find this is. What you’re viewing is the result of a wash and vacuum only! “Time capsule” is really a great adjective to use when describing this car. I know you’ll admire it’s overall provenance. It has obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall exterior condition is superior to most any other 30+ year-old Benz you can find. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this 450 SLC HATES rust and you won’t find anything to worry about here. Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Besides, I don’t think this car has seen many winter roads during its lifetime. Hop in, fire up the 4.5-liter V-8 and it starts immediately – even when cold! The automatic transmission shifts as it should. Having owned many dozens of Daimler vehicles over three decades, I’ve developed a great appreciation for the Mercedes style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience. I KNOW you’ll be proud to own and drive this wonderful car. Honestly, this Benz has more raw power and almost accelerates faster than my current everyday driver ’99 E-Class. CONDITION: In total, this is a clean, smoke-free Mercedes. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also things needing attention: The car idles, runs and drives as I feel it should – immediate, strong oil pressure, strong battery and charging system, no brake pull or alignment issues we’ve found! The only real mechanical issue I find is the factory A/C system wants to blow warm so I’d suggest a refrigerant recharge down the road. The metallic charcoal paint is in good overall condition and still holds quite a shine with only a rock chip or two. You won’t find rust bubbles in any of the usual spots under the paint. One pit/chip to the left foglamp lense. The chrome and exterior trim all around is in way above average condition. The entire undercarriage appears in great, solid shape just as the photos show. I really like the late-model large Mercedes alloys on this car. They blend perfectly with the low-profile body style without detracting from the vintage vibe. All are straight and true with nearly new 205/60-R16 radials. Take another good look at the interior pictures. The original front buckets are in fine condition. The clean, gray leather upholstery is all-original with no rips, tears, fading or wear-through spots. The wood dash trim is nearly perfect (quite a rarity onmost of these cars!). All the dash gauges and exterior lights are bright and true. You're even going to find the unused, original first aid kit back in the packing shelf compartment. Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice car from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset if I miss a minor flaw or you are required to spend a small amount on an unforeseen problem! No used car is perfect. Having said that, I have every confidence this vehicle could be driven cross-country tomorrow. We’re happy to work with any transporter you choose however, you’re welcome to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Florida and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in (We’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International a few miles away) and then begin a road trip the same day! C’mon, our spring weather’s not bad here in the Pacific Northwest and this car would be a blast to drive back home just about anywhere! Please Note: We will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me, as outlined above, is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to inspect the vehicle at our premises on weekdays, so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I reserve the right to end the auction early if the Mercedes is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, we accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends If you do decide to have the car shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98028 to get an instant on-line quote from either source. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. Make sure you inquire with your shipper about insurance coverage on the vehicles they transport. The vehicle can be stored free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after full payment has been made. We are open for vehicle pickup everyday from 10 to 6. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.9% sales tax, title preparation and transfer fees. Out-of-state buyers will need to pay any applicable fees where they live – we WON’T collect any sales tax from you. Because the car is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington. Whew! Don’t you just love legalese?
