Vehicle Detail

Citizens Arrest!! I am not sure where this car was purchased new, but it was purchased by it's second owner in 1974, Mrs. Mary Louise Chisum of Cartersville Georgia. Mrs. Chisum was a very maticulous lady in caring for her 1964 Galaxie, she kept it serviced on a regular basis and kept the car overall in very nice condition up until her death. The car sat idle for about a year until her son decided to send it to the scrap yard, This is where I stepped in. I thought it was in way too good of shape to be sitting in a scrap yard, and I sure did not wish to see it with 50'' wheels rolling and thumping, but who fixes a 4 dr, right? Then it hit me, Andy Griffth Show Car! This is not a Barret Jackson show car, It is a Parade car and a Local car show car, Meaning it does have some minor flaws. It is an all numbers matching car, with it's original 289 engine, automatic, power steering, manual brakes car. All glass is good, windshield has a little milky film on the passenger side bottom. Doors still close as good as when it was new, they even still lock and unlock with the original keys. Trunk pan, rockers, low fenders, low quarters, floor pan are all in good shape. There is one small rust hole in the passenger side front floorpan. Here is a list of all the flaws, trunk key cylinder is missing as is the trim for it. outer headlight bezels need replaced, bumpers need rechromed, they clean descent but really need chromed. driver side front door panel is loose at the bottom and both front arm rest need covered. Needs tires. Could use a tune up as it has been a couple of years since it's been out on the road. Old car handled really well while driving. There are some small dings on the deck lid and hood, some small scratches here in there from normal road wear. I have the correct 64 dog dish hubcaps for the car. Car has the original jack still in place. This car comes with a legal bill of sale, and a copy of it's last registration which you may use in order to tag it in your state. This car looks good enough that it could set in a mayberry museum if you wanted to do that with it, or you could spend more money on it and make it a top quality show car. The interior is original, I am sure the seats were recovered at some point. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding, there will be a couple of bidding requirements to weed out the people who like to bid for the fun of it. Dummy Spotlight, authentic bubble gum light not wired up, has new old style siren that works good. Dash pocket trim came from ebay several years ago, it was said to have been aquired during the filming of return to mayberry in 1986. I do not have a certificate of authenticy for it, I have compared it with autographs and it appears to be authentic to me. Payment is due in full within 5 days of auction end. Thanks for looking and Helping preserve a classic piece of Americana. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo10xdN2Rds&feature=relatedOn Apr-14-11 at 07:48:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Quick video of the car and engine, does need the dead gas ran or drained from the tank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4xkd_HsmMk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdN9rkh1pPg
