Vehicle Detail

The gate has been locked and I can't come back home until the HURST 300 is gone! I Have the 300-H manual book that came with the car that's in great condition and pic to follow. Besides the surface rust in the trunk this car is 100% RUST FREE numbers matching car! This car was bought 6 years ago from the second owner. He and his brother both had Hurst 300's. As you can see from the Pic's it's been very well preserved. Someone talked him into having the front seats recovered before selling it. He told me the seats were not even that bad. I'm picky so here is what the interior condition is. The dome light is missing the front part of the lens cover. The plastic glove box door has a small piece missing lower right had corner. The dash pad has no cracks but has for some reason the usual dark spots. One on top right hand side the size of a silver dollar. The other spot is far left side kinda on the corner top and just a little starting down the side. Trim around the inside drivers door has a three inch crack. The back seat is not as light as the pic shows. It's not dry rotted but not as supple as the front leather. The thread on a few seems are just starting to open a little. Pic pretty much speak for the interior. The door panels are very nice and have some hint of fading on top from the sun before being garaged in 1979. Carpet is original and pretty darn good except for the pass side under floor mat where the heater core leaked one time years ago and a few light small spots under back driver side floor mat. Head liner is near perfect along with the rear package tray. The door jams looks liked they were hand painted when the car was painted. There is some white paint on the edges of the interior trim when they taped it off to paint. This car has been garaged since 1979. As you can see by the inspection sticker from 9-26-79 the car had 69,924. Radio works and fan blower switch works along with the trunk release in glove box. Front windows work fast and the rear are a little slow and could use some lube. The electric door locks work from the drivers door but not from the passenger door. Both power seats work excellent! Head light doors work perfect! OK for the outside. The car was repainted on or before 1979. Of course it's not pin stripped the correct color. The paint job was not a top top quality job. From 10-15 feet it shines and looks nice. getting closer you and tell it was not prepped correctly. THIS CAR REALLY NEEDS A CORRECT PAINT JOB AND IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC. Back to the body. The rear passenger quarter at one time looks like it Rubbed a garage entrance wall? When you stand back from a angle looking down the car it is a little wavy about 6 inches above and below the pin stripe. I looked inside trunk and saw a few spots where it was Tapped out but nothing major at all from inside. I can't find body filler on the quarter panel. The passenger lower door has a small kink on the edge and could be related to the quarter but I don't think so. The passenger front fender has a dent that was put there by the gentlemen I bought the car from. The drivers side is nice but from a angle looking down the car you can see some spots from not being prepped right. The glass in the car is really good with some scratching on the door window etc. The Chrome and stainless. Some of the stainless around the back window has some imperfections from someone trying to remove to paint the car. A few tiny dings on a few pieces on the car but nothing major. The black and stainless that goes around the bottom of the car is nice but missing some paint on rear Quarter panel on drivers side. The bumpers have been re-chromed on or before 1979. The back bumper is pretty nice. The front had a tiny scrape on the top less then a 1/8 inch and the front bumper was not prepped correctly for re-chrome and shows some light sand marks but still very presentable. Door handles are very nice. Driver side remote mirror is pretty nice but not pitted but not perfect chrome. Front and rear valances are near perfect. Doors shut tight and air tight for a 41 year old car. The rubber seals are not dry rotted at all. I would consider the fiber glass hood and trunk lid are in very good condition with light cracking on trunk wing. I do have a small cloth under the trunk lid on the right side for it does drop a hair without it there. The trunk has the original trunk mat with some wear. The rust you see is surface rust and never repaired before. The rims and trim rings are very very nice. Trim rings are 95% and the caps have slight wear on them. OK for the drive train. The Motor is solid and runs excellent. The transmission shifts excellent also. The rear is good and has a slight Chrysler clunk when put in reverse. Here is what I have done to the car. New reproduction 300-H hood emblems. NOS top front fender turn signal chrome(blinks with turn signal on) the right one is not blinking but the old ones come with the car. NOS side front fender markers. NOS front turn signal lens left and right. New heavy duty U-Joints. New water pump. Transmission flushed when I got the car and a new filter and pan gasket a few weeks ago. New o-ring in transmission where shifter goes into transmission. New front and rear shocks. New idler arm. New tires under 2000 miles. Front end aligned. $250.00 carburetor rebuild. New flow master mufflers and tailpipes and chrome tips three weeks ago. The rest of the exhaust is original and solid. The cars sounds pretty mean and it not quite! Here is what the car needs. A heater core was by passed on or before 1979. The power steering box? has a small leak. NO oil or trans or rear leaks. I just spent 75.00 to have the A/C checked and the condenser has a leak up front. The compressor is working fine. I put 3 cans of R-12 in 4 years ago and the A/C was very cold but leaked out in a few weeks. The power steering box or pump hose? has a small leak. NO oil or trans or rear leaks. The shocks and the water pump and the idler arm and tail pipes looked to be the original to the car per the mechanic who worked on the car. I also think much of the original parts are still under the hood. I'm being as honest as I can. Questions please email. This is a rust free car and never abused. The paint does have some chips and scratches that I must mention. This is a great car that gets thumbs up and cars and truckers blowing horns at you. What fun it is to drive. All inspections are welcome. If you need a ride from the Jacksonville airport that is not a problem. Delivery maybe available within a few hundred miles from Jacksonville Florida if you pay for the fuel for me. I'm available most of the time. Thank you and Good Luck! On Apr-08-11 at 10:32:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Drum or Disc? Thank you for scaring the HURST out of me! Yes it has Front Disc brakes. Looks like it has the wrong master cylinder on the car. The car stops on a dime so the brakes do work excellent but I guess it should be changed in the future. I'm sure 99.8% it's the real deal but you always have that what if in the back of your mind. Thank you!On Apr-08-11 at 11:51:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Who ever is the winner of this 1970 Chrysler 300 HURST 440 TNT 375 HP will receive the car with a FULL TANK of PREMIUM FUEL!
