I purchased this car from the original family of owners. Vehicle was purchased new in PA, and driven to So. Cal in 1984, where it has remained since, being used for local driving by a senior until recently. This is the famed SJ, with the sport suspension, bucket seats, console, gauge package, Posi-traction, factory rare aluminum brake drums, color matched gauges, deluxe interior, full trim package, 350 transmission (not the TH200), close ratio steering, etc. The miles are original and she runs like it. Since she was purchased in PA, she came with the high output 301 Pontiac engine and 4 barrel. She also requires very minimal smog equipment for CA smog regulations. Passes smog almost perfectly clean (have paperwork). Very well cared for car. Newer paint (10 years old), done very well and standing up well for age. Looks like the original paint, not a re-spray. Very straight body with only a couple of very small parking lot door dings (hard to see). So. Cal is not known for generous parking spots. Never wrecked or damaged. Garaged most of it's life. The top is original and while still usable, needs replaced at some point. There are a couple of small rust spots on her, but superficial. One, by the right side of the top moulding, one on the front of the hood, and a little on the edge of the trunk lid and by the license plate cut out. All hard to see, but small bubbling and not through the metal by any means. Perfectly clean and rust free chassis, never repaired, cleaned, or repainted. Very nice original chrome and trim. Beautiful original interior with just minor aging on 2 front seat lower bolsters from sliding in and out. (can be inserted easy). Very nice dash with no major damage, cracks, etc. Nice gauges and all work perfect. Cruise control even works perfect. All lights and options work as expected. Very nice outside trim, far better than 95% of these cars. Perfect glass. Original weatherstripping very nice, showing garage storage most of life. Custom rear chambered muffler with 2 pipes. Gives nice, passive burble letting you know she isn't just a Chevy v8, but quiet inside. I drive this car daily 10 miles each way to work and I drive her like a Honda. I am a Pontiac collector and have gone through this car for service and refreshing of soft parts and I have to say she is reliable, very tight and quiet, smooth, and starts perfect every time at the touch of the key, even when the weather is 40 degrees in the morning. A real pleasure to drive and enjoy. She handles like a Trans Am, has more power than you need, but still manages to give a really smooth ride. If you drive her, you will never believe she is 32 years old. Definitely not your average "old car". She drives like she is about 5 years old and has been well cared for, due to 32 years of perfect service and upkeep, and no abuse. This car in this condition is very rare and almost impossible to replicate. The options also make her extremely desirable to Pontiac collectors. You will be hard pressed to find one in this well preserved and never messed with condition anywhere. I know, I looked for a long time to find the best of this body style, the 79 GP SJ. Rare by any standard. Currently registered, insured, and driven. She gets admiring looks wherever I drive her. Must sell, unfortunately... My loss is somebody's lucky gain. Less than half dozen GP's of this body style show up on Ebay a year and never in this condition and NEVER the rare "real" performance optioned SJ.
