Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a loaded 2000 Ford Excursion Limited 4WD, 7.3 Liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel that needs work. This truck was just traded back in to us with 193,963 actual miles on it, this is a hard to find truck in a very rare and desirable color. In my years of buying and selling cars and trucks, I have had very few that are in as high demand as the 7.3 Liter Diesel Excursion. For those of you who are familiar with these phenomenal trucks, you already know that they are probably the most desirable, long-lasting, dependable and fuel-efficient of any trucks ever produced. This Excursion will need some work. We sold this truck to a gentleman approximately one year ago and it was just traded back into us. It is running rough and smoking. The transmission may also need repairs. We took it to a nearby shop and had them do a quick check-over and this is what they found (please note that there may be additional repairs needed as well, but here is what they told us)... There appears to be an issue with the "under the valve cover" wiring harness on the right side. It is intermittently misfiring on the right bank. It may also have fuel injector issues that may need repaired. The transmission appears to have a "1/4" shift module bad, as the overdrive light is on and it appears to be starting off in second gear, so it will need some transmission work. It will need some brake work as well, and at least one brake line is bad. I personally drove the truck around town today for about an hour and a half...it did appear to smooth out a bit after being warmed up, but still smokes quite a bit. All of the gauges checked very well. It holds excellent oil pressure all the time, so the bottom-end of the motor appears to be very good. It ran very cool the whole time, so there are no overheating issues. The voltmeter reading was excellent the whole time, so there are no charging issues. The batteries will need replaced, however. They will hold a charge but they are weak. It does need a thorough cleaning inside as well. The center console and the third-row seat are supposed to be dropped off to us this week by the previous owner, so as long as they are they will be included with the truck. Again, it may need more than this, or not, but this is what the shop that checked it out noted to us that it needed. This is an opportunity for someone who knows how to work on these vehicles to buy one very cheaply...it will sell to the high bidder regardless of how much it brings. I would say that hauling this Excursion would be best, as I do not want to guarantee it will drive a long distance with it needing the repairs that it needs, so keep this in mind. It is finished in Dark Blue Metallic with Arizona Beige trim and Tan leather interior including; front captain's seats, full factory carpeting and factory AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo. The body is straight and the paint is pretty decent. Trucks like this one are becoming increasingly harder to find, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for a nice one in a VERY rare and desirable color combination that you can purchase cheap and fix up yourself. For those of you who know Power Stroke Diesels, you will know that the 7.3 Liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel is the one to have...they were the best Power Stroke Turbo Diesel ever produced. Many feel that this was the best truck ever buillt and they have become iconic with truck aficianados. These trucks are the absolute best tow vehicles you can buy and will out-perform and outlast any newer Diesel truck on the market. The 7.3 Liter Turbocharged (T444E) Power Stroke engine was produced by International for use in medium and heavy-duty applications. When Ford decided to make it available in their F-series trucks, they had a combination that proved to be the most indestructible and reliable of any truck ever produced. There is no comparison to the newer 6.0 and 6.4 Liter Power Stroke engines, they have been proven unreliable and have nowhere near the life-expectancy of the 7.3 Liter. It is equipped with; Limited package, rear backing sensors that work, cruise control, overhead console, 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, full-factory carpeting, captain's chair seating for eight passengers with full-sized center console, power windows, factory camper and towing packages, towing mirrors, power locks, air-conditioning, Ford factory AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, tilt wheel, factory engine-block heater, factory Ford aluminum wheels, Dana heavy-duty axles, heavy-duty towing hitch, tow hooks, brake controller and much more. The only non-stock modification that we know of is the addition of the cold air airbox kit and an aftermarket exhaust. This is a nice improvement over the restrictive, stock airbox/intake. It improves horsepower and fuel mileage. Otherwise, this truck is stock and unmodified as far as we know. The tires are top-of-the-line 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2's, they are showing cupping on the fronts and the rears are worn, but evenly worn. Front suspension work may be needed to correct the cupping issue, according to our mechanic. This unit is in overall decent condition aside from the aforementioned issues. It does have the normal, expected wear and tear you would expect to find on a used vehicle. This typically includes; scratches, chips, nicks, dings, and drips (any major damage will be noted in the description such as large dents, etc.). Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible normally, but this is an exception...we figured as "in demand" as these Excursion 7.3 Diesels are that someone could buy this one cheap and fix it up. DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP, THESE ARE VERY, VERY HARD TO FIND AND I DOUBT YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER FOR SALE AT NO RESERVE. KEEP IN MIND, IT DOES NEED WORK. As with all of our auctions, this is a no reserve sale. This 2000 Ford Excursion Limited will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle. Because of increasing expenses in every regard, we have been forced to raise our fees by $40, this is the first time in ten years that we have done this, so hopefully you will understand. There will be a $125 documentation fee and a $15 title fee added to each sale, these will be the ONLY additional fees you will be responsible for, unless you reside in the state of Ohio, in which case you will need to pay the proper amount of sales tax, based on the current rate for the county in which you reside. Temporary 30-day plate and registration is also available for $18.50. We do not charge any additional fees and there are no hidden charges. Most sellers are charging double this amount currently. I welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding on this Excursion. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally prior to the end of auction (please call if you like). I am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction. Winning bidder agrees to forward a 25% partial payment (unless a lesser amount is agreed upon PRIOR to the end of the auction) at end of auction via direct bank wire transfer or by overnighted cashier's check, money order or certified funds. Balance will be due within seven days of end of auction or at time of pick up or delivery, whichever comes first. I will help in any way possible to arrange transportation. I can store the vehicle for up to 90 days, until pick up can be arranged, as long as it's paid for in full. I have been buying, selling and driving unique, specialty vehicles for over ten years now and take pride in offering only low-mileage vehicles that are not "run of the mill", beat-up cars and trucks. I specialize in the hard to obtain cars, SUV's and trucks, Dodge 5.9 Cummins and Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel trucks, Ford Crown Victoria, Chevrolet Impala and Caprice 9C1 and 9C3 police vehicles, collectible and rare cars, trucks and vans. If there are any questions at all, again, please don't hesitate to call me at (614) 893-3857. I will answer all e-mails as quickly as possible. Thanks and good luck! On Apr-14-11 at 19:01:28 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: I did receive the third-row seat and the center console today, so they will both be included with the vehicle. Thanks!
