Vehicle Detail

1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe Barn Find Survivor – One Owner from new Recently purchased from Estate Sale of deceased original owner. Found inside detached garage in all original condition with boxes of documentation and service records beginning with the original purchase date December 1963from Century Chevrolet in California. Ordered in Saddle Tan with Saddle Leather interior, optional 327/340 high horse power V8 engine with 4-Speed transmission. According to the owners family, the car was their dads baby and he last drove it sometime in 1998 when he parked it in the garage. The owner kept diary-like personal journals of his long-term ownership of his pride & joy and stored a lot of old parts to his ’63 Corvette…. including the original engine that was included with our purchase. Sitting on a wooden pallet next to his Corvette was the original numbers matching cylinder block, crank shaft, harmonic balancer, carburetor, intake manifold, both left & right cylinder heads, timing chain cover, oil pan, water pump and boxes of miscellaneous small parts. After photographing all the engine parts we sent the block, heads & crank to our Corvette specialty motor shop for inspection & evaluation. All checked out good with no cracks or major damage, boiled, cleaned and ready to be rebuilt. The motor in the car now is a 300HP 1965 327ci and has the original 340hp exhaust manifolds, air cleaner, fan etc. on it. We have not tried to start this engine yet but with proper cleaning and preparation it should fire right up. The brakes will need to be rebuilt and all fluids purged and refreshed along with typical mechanical dusting-off if it was to be driven as is. The body is in great condition and she wears most all of her original paint, only a few spot-ins and small repairs to the front fenders and nose. All stainless trim is in excellent condition and all glass is good with correct date codes, windshield appears to be early service replacement. The frame is in good shape but has some visible rust; the kick-ups have already been repaired at some point and look great. Chassis is 100% original & complete showing just the typical surface rust-scaling. The spare tire tub is original and has a tire inside along with the original lock found in the glove compartment. The only missing parts are the jack & tools and the 2 headlight motors. The interior is all original including the color matching steering wheel and AM/FM radio; it can be cleaned up as is or restored. There are a few interior items that are rusty and showing some corrosion. As with the entire car, it appears original and never restored, therefore it is not new or fresh but in good condition and ready for a complete restoration if desired. Photos of the car from new show the owner standing next to it on day of delivery with factory installed hub caps, the car now has a set of Konck-Offs (not bolt-ons. They are non OEM Spinner Knock-offs) with a set of excellent white wall radials. This Split Window Coupe is a perfect foundation for a complete restoration or with a little TLC it could be assembled with the original numbers matching engine as a Survivor/driver! We are offering the car for sale as it is now including the original engine and components listed above – NOTHING ELSE! The selling family showed us more documentation and journals including the Chevrolet dealer business card, day of purchase key chain, California Black Plates, many photos and told us they have the original Pink Title and other day of sale documents which also comes with our purchase. However, they wanted to make copies and send us the originals, as of today we have not received these promised items. The family states they need a little more time to gather up everything and send it to us. The winner of this auction will be provided the contact information of the family and any additional documentation that is made available belongs to the new owner. We are a Corvette Restoration shop and can restore this car to your specifications. Email us for a quote. NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE
