1989 VW Jetta GLi 16V. 178,000 miles: 4 door, 5 speed manual. Recaro bucket seat, with power drivers side. A/C. ( needs charged, replaced the condensor ) Cruise, PW (2 rears don't work), Power Locks, keyless entry Sunroof Newer tires, about 1000 miles on them. Did lots of maintenance: New clutch, with all new tranny seals, 1 new front axle shaft, new a/c condensor, all new radiator hoses, thermostat, coolant flush, all Synthetic oil in engine and gearbox, new alternator, new O2 sensor, new IAC (idle air control valve), all brakes checked & repaired as needed, new front struts. Have receipts for over $2K in work done, and have receipts from previous owner as well. Put 4 new Dunlop tires 2008. Body is a semi-rough. Driver side door has the worse of the RUST - passenger side rear door has a dent - fuel door has LOTS of rot / rust and under the rear fender flares there is surface rust. But under the car is VERY Clean - no holes or rust under the car ( i have Tons of pics of it on a lift ) Car run fine, got about 27-28mpg. It has hesitation @ idle and from a start, but seems to run way better @ higher RPM or on the road. I did a compression check to verify engine status. All 4 cylinders tested @ 150-155 psi! So, that shows the engine itself is in great shape. Also forgot to add to list of work done in 2005/06- timing belt and new exhaust (from cat back). Other oddities.. Keyless entry - aftermarket alarm - hit the button and the door unlock I have this car on local craigslist and other VW enthusiast sites. If i do not sell it by the end of the month i will PART IT OUT! Please dont make me part it out - great daily driver / summer driver / project car. Gets great fuel mileage and still has alot of life left in it. As mentioned above - rear power windows do not work - front ones work fine - i have tested the switches and they work so there must be something i am missing that doesnt allow for the rear windows to roll down. Passenger side outter door handle is broken as well. There are 2 sets of keys included, clean / clear title in hand ready for an in person CASH sale.
