Vehicle Detail

I have for sale my grandfather's 1985 Toyota Pickup Truck. He originally bought it new locally here in Toyota of Sacramento with 6 miles on the odometer when he was 66. He always kept the truck in excellent shape and took it to the toyota dealership for pretty much everything, however now due to his age and health he is unable to drive it and from lack of space we are being forced to sell it. The truck is a 4x4 automatic transmission fuel injected truck, with the extended cab, the last year of the solid axle and WORKING AC , when he purchased the truck he bought it specifically to his desires and he got the most equipped, durable truck, however since it has no power windows or power locks, everything in the truck is reliable as it should from a toyota. Along the years he did everything to the truck as was needed,(all scheduled maintenance etc) and from the thick folder of records i can see he has had the cylinder head replaced (at toyota of course), head gasket, valves adjusted, shocks, hubs serviced, fuel pump, alternator, water pump, thermostats , full brakes front and rear, etc, and has always had it registered smogged and insured. The truck does however hold a salvage title from a collision he was involved in, on november 1998. Do you want to know what happened? I have the statement he sent to the insurance company in 1998 where he clearly states all the facts, and even though it was a minor front end collision, the insurance company decided to write it off since it was "too old" however instead of having the insurance company take his truck, he decided to keep it and instead got every single thing replaced with new parts, he would have nothing less, since after all it was HIS truck, the one he had wanted for so long. (i have full documentation of the statements and a long list with all the parts that were replaced on the truck) Present day the truck runs, however the seats are worn ,and the ignition switch needs to be reassembled because he one day he forgot where he placed the keys and the ignition was taken out to get the truck started. (The keys have since been found). If you have any questions let me know, i have tons of paperwork, the original window sticker, and the original manual that came with the truck, you'll be hard pressed to find a toyota of this vintage, this well documented ,in this condition that isn't rusted, beat to hell or simply falling apart. This truck has been in the family for decades, I have reposted the truck since my brother was unable to keep it from lack of space and has to find a new garage. Thanks for reading and happy bidding! On Apr-08-11 at 15:19:12 PDT, seller added the following information:I would like to add that the truck passed california's smog test with no issues and flying colors. The truck also has new spark plugs (NGK Iridium) and a new OE oxygen sensor. Happy Bidding!
