I have a trusty old and reliable, (California car) 'blue plate' gem. it was purchased from a member of the original owner's family. It is a Mercedes Benz 240D- diesel, original -'Atlantic Blue' paint, with a rare 4 speed transmission, SUNROOF, and approximately 131k original miles. The original workbooks, and owners' manual, and I.D. plate are intact. It even has the "Original Emergency Gas" can, mounted in the spare tire well, Safety Hazard Sign mounted under trunk lid, and the FIRST AID KIT is still intact. The interior is in very good shape, and the car is very presentable, NOT a show car, but quite clean. now it is up for sale, and should be driven, more frequently. The Benz shows its' age, in certain areas, but ideally a low mileage(odometer is functioning fine) Mercedes Diesel, with many more miles to go.
DETAILS;
BODY; virtually rust free, no eminent body damage, 1 small minor(golf ball size) dent on driver's rear fender, otherwise very straight, and intact. all glass is fine, no cracks anywhere
INTERIOR; all leather seats, back & passenger seats', excellent shape, driver seat needs attention
DRIVE-LINE; engine is in excellent working order, starts' up like a snap of your fingers, transmission shifts well, no grinds or ominous sounds, no major leaks, quiet for a typical diesel ELECTRICAL; all gauges are functioning, windows and sunroof are MANUAL, central locking system is working @ 60%, car locks up tight, A/C needs a service-(up-graded to R134A)
OVERALL; This Benz gets an easy 30-45mpg, depending on how and where you are driving. It is a diesel, and has not been converted to run on SVO processed vegetable oil.
