Vehicle Detail
Okay, I'm reluctantly listing my project. But it's been sitting for over a year now so I decided to list it. To many other projects and I just lost interest and I can use the cash for something else. This is not junk. What's been done has been done right. This is a Cycle X hardtail frame. With a strong 836 inline four. I have new Mikuni twin carb setup with custom intakes also from Cycle X. I used CBR 600 wheels that I stripped and had powder coated black. New Shinko tires front and rear. New All Balls wheel bearings front and rear. Front end is also off a CBR 600 F2. I designed bearing cups that are incorporated into the frame and it's like taking a CBR front end off one and swapping it to another. Also has new All Balls steering neck bearings. New gold levers. New mini tach and speedo with custom made stainless bracket. I slightly modified the clip-ons to swing forward a bit. New seat with new black powder coated springs. New Villan style tank that is mounted. I cleaned the inside out when I got it and properly sealed it with POR-15 tank sealer so there won't ever be rust issues. I have a nice new petcock. Rear rotor is new custom wavey. Dyna coils. New custom transulcent red plug wires with all new caps. MAC drag pipes in great shape. I started scuffing one with scotch bright because I was going for that dull Exile choppers look. New oil tank with all fitting that will be needed. Modified on left side to clear new gold chain. It was tig welded and no leaks. I also have a bracket I lasered out and I have an idler sprocket that I've not mounted yet to the frame to keep the chain away from the oil tank. I have most of the parts to almost finish it. It will need an ignition switch. You'll notice in some of the pics it's painted. It is no longer painted. I painted it an awesome slick redish orange metal flake but aparently had some bad activater because the clear never completely cured. So I had to stip it all down, skim it with bondo again and block it down. I did that then I put some spot puddy on it and never made it past that point. Took the wind out of my sail. So that just needs to be finished. The alien headlight in the pics, I no longer have. I have a z-1 900 style headlight with new fork ears. Also shows an idler wheel on the chain, it's no long there. I decided to go with the idler sprocket. I'm sure I'm missing something so just look at the pics closely and ask any questions you may have. I've got quite a bit of money and time wrapped up in it. I feel bad because it was a vision I had the almost came to life. Well, unless I don't sell it, it will get finished eventually. Not really sure on mileage but the engine was gone thru several years ago when it got the 836 kit. I bought a nice complete rideable '74 model that I rode around for a while and I will tell you that it sounds like a drag car and ran like a raped ape! I bought the bike because of the engine to use in this project. The neck of the stock frame is included to graft the vin onto the chopper. That makes it kinda nice because the fram & engine VIN will match. This will be the last time I list this bike. If it doesn't sell, I'll eventually finish it. Thanks for looking! Just wanted to ad after a recent question I remembered that it also has an custom offset front sprocket from Cycle-X to help line up the sprockets from the wider rear wheel/tire. Also, the bare frame and carbs. alone cost me about $1500. Then add up all the other new parts and work that's been done to get it where it is now. Get it while it's hot boys! The more I look at it on here, the more I think I'm making a mistake parting with it!
