Vehicle Detail
This is a custom 1978 CB750K with 25000 miles in GREAT condition. This bike has a clear title. I am the third owner of this bike. I purchased it 2 1/2 years ago with the purpose of creating a Cafe Racer. The previous owners did a good job of keeping the bike running and the chrome was in great condition for its age and location in NY. It has always been garaged in the winter. I have completely torn the bike down and rebuilt it. I had help from my brother in law (Honda mechanic), my father in law ( retired engineer), his friend Erik (bike nut), and Dave (mechanic from a local Suzuki dealership). I think the bike looks and rides great. It has a real nice low line. This bike runs very well. It started on the first push of the ignition button this spring. There are some small imperfections with the bike. The chrome wheels have some very minor pitting near a few of the spokes. There is a very small hole (size of a kernel of corn) in the bottom of the right exhaust, just back from the baffle. There is a small ding in the headlight visor. The front brakes are a little weak. I've asked Carpy (CB750 guy who has won a lot of custom bike awards) about this problem. He suggested that I replace the stock brake master cylinder with a more modern one from a sportbike to keep air bubbles from entering the line. So that's the Bad Stuff. The Good Stuff Functional Modifications - new oil and filter - new air filter - new tapered bearings in the steering head - new clutch cable - new throttle cable - new H4 headlight - New Vapor tach and speedo digital computer from Trail Tech - rebuilt carbs - new electric ignition - new Dyna coils - new spark plugs and wires - new front brake pads - cleaned rear brakes - new battery - new smaller 530 chain and sprockets (the # of teeth on the sprockets changed but the ratios were kept stock) - new gaskets on the engine - Compression tested engine Cosmetic Modifications - Powder coated frame - new black paint on the tank seat and side covers - painted fork lowers - painted front brake caliper - Clubman (drop) bars - Painted engine - polished engine covers with painted Honda logos - polished rear brake housing - Chrome headlight visor (small dent) - new fiberglass solo seat (vinyl seat cover) - Chrome license plate bracket LED tail light/brake light (looks really sharp, good chrome) - new mini turn signals front and rear When it was torn down new gaskets were put in, and a compression test was done to it. Dave told me the compression was very good. Because the carbs were cleaned so well he said he didn't need to touch them in order to get the compression correct. I do not have a paypal account. The winner will have to contact me after the auction to send a $500 check as deposit. Once that check clears then we can set up a time for pickup or delivery within 100 miles of Binghamton NY. The remaining payment will be due in full, in cash upon pickup. My reserve price is considerably lower than my buy it now price. Happy bidding! .
