Vehicle Detail

You are looking at A very, very nice 1966 Ford F100 Factory 4x4 NOT a swap. This is the real deal F11 VIN (meaning F100 four wheel drive) This truck came from the high desert of Oregon where rain is not too common, that dry climate coupled with a lot of pride in ownership is what preserved this truck so well! As it reads in the original owners manual that I have for this truck it was sold new at Shrum Brothers Ford-Mercury in Prineville, Oregon on September 8, 1966 - Prineville is a small high desert town in central/eastern Oregon where this truck lived its entire life until I purchased it. only two owners previous to myself. VIN breaks it down: F11 Y K(assembly plant) 864879 F-100 4x4 352 V-8 Kansas City, Missouri Production sequence Mechanical: This truck runs and drives out great. The 352 engine has around 20k miles on a complete overhaul and has real good power. This truck drives down the road with confidence! No shimmy's No shakes No rattles/clangs, this truck has never been an off road warrior! Its tight and solid cruises straight and quiet down the road. The power steering in this truck is excellent - truly one finger to turn the wheel at a dead stop. The transmission is quiet and shifts without issue, the clutch has good grabbing power..lots of grunt with that granny gear if you need it! I recently drove this truck 170 miles non-stop through the mountains of Oregon-I got a gods honest 15 mpg out of it and it was far from a flat open highway drive! this tough old Ford pulled the passes like a champ! It ran so good I forgot I was driving a nearly 50 year old truck. amazingly it still has the factory air cleaner and original decal-thats not a repro. Electrical: everything works: healights, taillights, turn signals, emergency flashers, dash indicators for the turn signal and emergency flashers even work! All of the gauges work, the charge gauge, amp, fuel, speedometer etc. get this: the turn signal cancellor still functions! This is the only classic I've ever owned that had the cancellor working! Paint/body/etc: The truck has been repainted twice the same color (per the previous owner), the current paint job is about four years old and still shows very nice and has a brilliant shine to it, no need to buff. The body is very straight and I honestly cannot think of any dents or even dings... really I can't. my pictures don't lie, this thing is straight. Though all amazing things have their flaws-there is a couple small nicks here and there but they are not a common theme and none are horrible. There is some typical hood rust on the very front lip to the drivers side of the hood emblem-very repairable and its just bubbling now-the strip of bubbles is about five inches long - a good body shop could clean it up and paint match it for a few hundred dollars-also there is a six inch long spot of rust in the bed near the cab(pictured) that would need repaired, the rest of the bed is rock solid-not sure how it only rusted in that spot-also the truck could use a headliner-and the dash pad is a little crunchy from the desert heat-though it does have a nice carpeted dash pad that looks pretty decent for the time being. The seat has been professionally re-upholstered-I found the original steel tag on the seat springs(its actually the original seat!). The carpet is in good useable condition, the door panels are good, the original horn ring/center cap isn't attached to the wheel but will come with the truck-also the original radio is not in the truck but will come with it(currently a tape deck that doesn't seem to work). This truck even still has the crank down spare tire under the bed, the shaft still turns freely. This truck has the original floors and they look great! I'm not an "expert" but there isn't any patchwork that I can find on this truck! Please look at the pictures of the cab mounts, floors, cab skirts, body braces, lower fenders, & rear wheel lips. There is no rust. some VERY minor surface rust on the underbody braces that would brush off easily if you wanted to apply protectant. theres a couple beads of water in the wheel lip and fender pics-those are NOT bubbles! This is a rare opportunity, as these factory 4 wheel drives simply didn't survive long and many rotted away long ago. I would much rather keep this truck than sell it but I simply don't have the room for it in my collection.. more like my pockets aren't deep enough to keep them all right now. So regretfully I have to let one go. I stress this truck is not perfect or a show truck, but it is very nice and very rare- it will not disappoint. This truck would be a light restoration for someone, or enjoy it as-is! I get comliments on this truck all the time, and it never goes un-noticed driving down the road. Bid fast, bid early-when's the last time you saw a factory 4x4 F100 this nice? will you ever again is the better question. I have sold five or six of my classics on Ebay over the past years and I am more than willing to help meet up with your transporter to make things easier for you. I am located in Salem, Oregon just 45 minutes south of Portland. Serious bidders only please. THIS AUCTION ENDS SUNDAY APRIL 10th AT 12:00 NOON PACIFIC TIME MAKE A NOTE, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS ONE! Ebay only allows 24 pictures, so if there is something that you would like to see just let me know I have more pictures of just about everything on this truck and will happily send them to you if you give me your email address. Please bid with confidence, check my feedback- I am sure I'm forgetting something so Please feel free to ask questions! Thanks for looking and good luck! On Apr-07-11 at 14:38:29 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer some questions I have been getting asked a lot: I have had a lot of interest in the front and rear differential gear ratios on this truck for some reason so to answer this truck has the standard 3.54/3.50 gears (standard in 1966) NOT the optional 4.09/4.10 Also I had a couple people ask about the heater. The heater works flawlessly, and both fan speeds work as they should. The tires are good, they are 35x12.50's about 60% tread left on them. The brakes are all in good shape, the brakes were re-done recently. The truck does NOT use any oil, and it doesn't "leak" any oil but it is 1966 technology so it seeps a little bit but nothing makes it to the driveway. ALSO: I have a lot of pictures in addition to what I have on here, the cab mounts cab skirts, core support, wheel wells etc. This truck is VERY solid-these pictures will show that. Those of you who I already have emailed the pictures to know that is an understatement, you just don't see them in original steel this solid. Thanks for looking and good luck!!
