This is a motorcycle from the estate of my father, and is sold with no warranty, as-is. This motorcycle was by far my father's favourite bike - it looked great, it drove great, it had wonderful smooth power, and it purred like only a BMW can. As you can see in the photos, this bike has been in storage for a number of years, so it has a good layer of dust on it. The bike was maintained regularly, and had no known service issues, other than the usual requirement that the carbs needed to be cleaned after every prolonged storage period - this seemed to be the biggest weakness of the BMW's of this vintage. The bike was lovingly maintained and it was always stored in a heated basement storage garage. It has run properly from the get-go, and is a pleasure to ride. There is no battery installed, but one will be included with the selling price - no guarantee as to the quality! Tires and brakes are both in drivable condition, but again, no warranty as to condition. As you can see from the photos, the panier on the right is missing - it got boosted in Laconia at the races some years ago, and I don't think my father ever got over the idea that some arse would steal a single panier!!! For any serious bike enthusiast, the R series bikes were well known for the fact that they were built specifically to accept a side-car - no funky modifications needed, making this a wonderful machine if you ever plan on adding a sidecar. R series bikes of this vintage are so well loved, bid early and bid often! The title is clear, but as it has been off the road for more than a year, it will require an inspection to put a Quebec license plate on. As for registration procedures in other jurisdictions, you will need to look after that yourself. Taxes are the responsibility of the buyer, and I will not deliver the bike further than my front door, so please be sure you know what the shipping will cost you before you buy. No orange peel, no overspray, no tape marks, etc... Second, the fuel tank looks pristine - there is old fuel in the tank, with stabilizer, but there are no obvious signs of rust or debris, etc...
