Vehicle Detail

UP FOR AUCTION...Do NOT miss this RARE OPPORTUNITY to own an ORIGINAL, UNMOLESTED, RUST-FREE, '60s MUSCLECAR...The ONE that started it ALL....1968 PONTIAC GTO. This AMAZINGLY original automobile was pulled from a Georgia barn, where it had remained untouched for over 25 years. It is a TRUE vin #242378..... car with correct casting: #16 Ram Air heads, TURBO 400 transmission, FACTORY HURST His/Hers console shifter, Block code: YT. This car retains its ORIGINAL GEORGIA TITLE and its ORIGINAL FACTORY BUILD SHEET. Prior to being STORED this car was painted CARDINAL RED.(Factory EXTERIOR PAINT was APRIL GOLD) Also, installed at that time was a new BLACK VINYL ROOF. ABSOLUTELY no evidence of rust under the vinyl roof whatsoever. This car is, and has ALWAYS been, a SOUTHERN car. I purchased from a COLLECTOR in TENNESSEE. Car has a CLEAR Tennessee title. Very, very minimal rust thruout. Car maintains all of its ORIGINAL SHEET METAL and is ROCK SOLID. Options on the car are: A/C with original Harrison compressor complete with all brackets and other A/C components in place, Power Brakes, Automatic Transmission with HURST, GATED SHIFTER, and HIDEAWAY HEADLIGHTS, again, with all necessary vacuum components and actuators in place. This car RUNS and DRIVES superbly. It is currently running 4 tube headers, an aluminun intake, and an edelbrock 800CFM carburator. The hydraulic cam is NASTY, lopes like a muther, and pulls Like a SCALDED MULE!!! This car is a ROCKET!!! The car needs interior carpet, dash pad, headliner, package tray, and some minor detailing. The current paint is a 25+ year old lacquer job with touch up in some places, where needed, but still SHINES and looks good from 15 FT. New owner can either paint or just DRIVE and ENJOY as is. This GOAT NEVER fails to TURN HEADS and the EXHAUST tone has been known to 'CHUB-UP' many adoring musclecar afficienados. This auction has a VERY reasonable RESERVE so, please bid OFTEN and bid to WIN. The vehicle is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with NO WARRANTY, either EXPRESSED or IMPLIED. I REFUSE to GIVE this car away, but have no time to bring the car BACK where it DESERVES to be. I RESERVE the RIGHT to END this AUCTION at ANY time, for ANY reason. Do NOT hesitate on this one...You SNOOZE and you LOSE. Absolutely NO DISSAPOINTMENTS here. Good luck and happy bidding. Car is currently dry-stored in Central Texas. Shipping is the responsibility of the new owner. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due from buyer within 48 hours of auction end. Seller will assist shipping company with loading of vehicle, when those arrangements are made. Seller will, also, work with new owner regarding reasonable, safe, and dry storage in a secure warehouse following sale. THANKS for looking and GOOD LUCK.On Apr-07-11 at 10:36:45 PDT, seller added the following information:ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ADDED BY SELLER APRIL 7, 2011 After reviewing my source for Pontiac Casting information, be advised that casting #16 for early 1968 GTOs is indicative of D-port Ram Air cylinder heads. On Firebirds and big cars equipped with 428 cubic inch motors, these same heads were considered HO. They are not the later-introduced, round-port, Ram Air IV heads as pointed out by an astute viewer. Thanks, David
