Vehicle Detail
SLIGHT REVISION HAS BEEN MADE-- JUST SPOKE WITH THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TRUCK AND HE CLARIFIED THE OIL LEAK ISSUE. I HAVE OUTLINED THE DETAILS IN CAPITAL LETTERS IN THE LISTING. 1999 F-250 Light Duty (F-150 with the 7700 package) Super Cab 4x4 Lariat. 5.4L Triton V8, automatic transmission. 206k miles. White and gold two-tone paint. 7 lug chrome covered steel wheels. 60-40 leather front bench seat with folding center console. Power windows, power locks, power driver’s seat, power mirrors with LED turn signals in the glass (mirror lenses have slightly discolored over the years), tilt, cruise, single CD player, automatic headlights, fog lights, manual 4x4 lever on the floor, plastic molded bed rail caps, receiver hitch. Very good condition and well maintained. Second owner of this truck and personally knew the original owner who purchased it new. It had 146k miles whenever we bought it in March of 2005. Essentially used as a runaround truck. (60k miles logged in nearly 6 years of ownership). This truck was bought new at Boeckman Ford in Kingfisher, OK and has spent its entire life in Enid, OK since then. My father drove it back and forth to work daily and used it to drive around and look at our properties, occasionally feeding cattle. It has a gooseneck ball and channel frame installed, mostly used to support a bale spike to carry hay bales around from time to time. We have a tractor we use to put out most hay, so this truck generally just carries hay from our stack yard up the road to our lots. Only pulled a gooseneck trailer a one time in a pinch, and it was only a 20 foot stock trailer to haul a litter of pigs to the vet. It has never towed anything serious. 4x4 works great and is tight. All power options function as they should. We bought this truck from a good friend of ours who special ordered it brand new. We purchased it in March of 2005 (The same month his new 2005 F150 super cab 4x4 white and gold Lariat arrived at the Ford Dealership). It had 146k miles as previously stated. He told us that since the day the truck was purchased new, it was dripping oil. He always had service performed at the local Ford Dealership (Stevens Ford in Enid, OK), and he immediately reported the problem. It was leaking out of the right side head gasket on the engine, so they replaced the head gaskets numerous times in an attempt to remedy the problem. Ultimately, Ford replaced BOTH HEADS IN THE ENGINE AT AROUND 75K MILES UNDER WARRANTY. THEY LATER REVEALED THE ORIGINAL RIGHT HAND HEAD FROM THE FACTORY WAS WARPED. THE ENGINE WAS NOT REPLACED, JUST THE HEADS. They later revealed that this was causing the head gaskets not to seal properly. This truck leaks no oil, and runs great. I have a stack of receipts for maintenance and repairs that have been done that include the following: 35,770 miles- Right hand head gasket reported leaking and replaced. Transfer case fluids flushed and replaced. Engine oil and filter changed, fuel filter changed. BG Transmission Service performed. 68,801 miles- Engine oil and filter changed. BG Cooling System Service. Serpentine belt replaced. 83,095 miles- BG Transmission Service performed. Rear speed sensor replaced. (ABS light on.) 124,658 miles- BG Transmission Service performed. DPFE Sensor replaced. (Check Engine light on.) 143,062 miles- Fuel Filler Cap replaced. (Check Engine light on.) 144,256 miles- Brakes inspected. Alignment performed. New front brake pads installed. Idler Arm replaced. 158,913 miles- Speed Control Deactivation Switch Recall performed. 167,508 miles- Front and Rear shocks replaced. Rear brake pads inspected. 172,474 miles- Gear Selector switch cleaned and greased. 193,982 miles- AC/ Heater Blend Door Actuator motor assembly replaced. 194,189 miles- Starter assembly replaced. Positive battery cable end replaced. 195,000 miles- Right outer tie-rod end replaced. Right lower ball joint replaced. 197,112 miles- Spark plugs replaced with 8 Motorcraft Platinum plugs. Fuel system cleaned. PCV valve, vacuum lines and elbows replaced. (Check engine light on. Basic tune-up performed.) 200,471 miles- Gear shift lever bushings and shaft replaced. (Bushings in gear shift were worn and it would not shift into park properly. Shop replaced the two bushings in the steering column and readjusted it as well as the gear indicator in the gauge cluster.) 206,049 miles- Two new brake rotors installed on the front. (I have a handful of receipts for oil changes throughout the life of the truck, I just discluded them from repair work done for the most part. As you can tell, this truck has always been taken care of. If the 'Service Engine Soon' Light came on, it was immediately taken in and the problem was addressed. Never had any serious problems, all just age-related issues that were taken care of throughout the life of the truck.) Interior is good for its age as well. The first owner had the driver’s side seat reupholstered right before we purchased it. About ¾ of the seat was redone in matching vinyl, up to the stamped ‘Lariat’ emblem in the backrest. Since then, it has worn slightly and has a couple of small tears near the bottom of the back, and one small hole in the side. I priced having them repaired locally and was given a quote of around $170.00 to fix the holes and restain the entire front seat and steering wheel to match and cover up the wear marks. I have decided to leave it at the buyer's discretion to have it fixed or not. A set of $50 seat covers may be a more viable option. This is a super nice truck and has been well taken care of and not abused. Always serviced and maintained. There are a few pocks along the sides of the bed, one dent in the driver's side front fender right near the turn signal light (as seen in the pictures), and one hail ding in the top of the hood. This truck is 11 years old and has normal signs of use and wear, but preventative measures were taken to preserve it the best we could. I do have a rubber bedmat for the bed that has a hole cut for the gooseneck ball that will go with the truck when it sells. It has a matching set of 265/75R16 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires all the way around that are approximately 40-50% tread life. Just next to the wear on the driver's side seat, the interior is nearly perfect with a hint of wear on the driver's side of the center console. CD player funtions properly and all speakers are in working condition. This truck is not perfect, but it is in exceptional condition. I would recommend giving me a call and coming by to see it for yourself and take it for a test drive. I have tried to accurately describe it to the best of my ability. As stated previously, the heads were replaced near 75k miles by a certified Ford Dealer (Stevens Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Enid, OK). It now has around 130k miles since the heads were replaced. It does use a little bit of oil between oil changes, usually about 1 quart every 3,000 miles. Nothing serious, I consider that normal for a truck of this age and mileage. If a person wanted to extend the life of the truck more permanently, they might consider pistons and rings and it would probably be ready to go another 200k. This truck is priced below Blue Book Value and I need to move it quickly. I'll be happy to entertain any questions and I will send any more pictures on request. This truck is for sale locally, so the listing may end early if a sale is made. There is no lien on this truck, and the title is clear. Don't hesitate to give me a call at any time.
