Vehicle Detail
This is the car. Finding a 100s is like finding the perfect spouse: It takes a long time, it isn't cheap, but it's well worth the effort. What we have here is a replica of Austin Healey's rarest and most desirable car. Only fifty-five were ever produced, and thirty-seven cars can be accounted for today. Almost all were painted in this blue and white paint scheme. In tge late eighties classic Roadsters produced a replica of the most famous of all Healeys and the cars have developed a following all of their own. I presonally have never seen one of the Classic replica's done up in Austin Healey's racing livery and the result is striking. None of the original 100 S cars had provisions for tops and side curtains but the replica has a form fitting convertible top and roll-up windows. The frame was specifically mad for this car. The engine is a 1989 Chevrolet 4.3 litre V-6 which has been tweaked for maximum horsepower and this car flies. The engine is positioned slightly behind the front wheels which give the car a nice weight ratio: the result is a sports car feel that a V-8 version could never achieve. Many ours of labor and thought was put into this replica. The front end is Mustng ll with a 2and 1/2 inch drop on the spindles: this provides the car with its low stance, The beautiful aluminum gas cap which resided in the center of the back panel behind the cockpit sits behind the driver on this replica: one of the only clues that the car is a recreation. The seats have been redone in blue with white piping but lack the cooloing slots in the backrests, all stuff a keen eye would spot but who cares this car is about having fun. Power steering, power brakes and a unique radio that looks like an original 60's unit but hides MP3 and CD capability. New tires, ball joints, brakes etc. to give you a fun reliable little roadster just in time for summers British car shows. Call Tom at 614-975-6996 with any questions. Thanks
