Vehicle Detail
2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4x4 for sale. This was a very well maintained 1 owner vehicle when I bought it for my daughter 2 years ago. It has 110,000 miles and has been taken care of better than most vehicles. See the list of know repairs and upgrades and you will see how well it has been treated. Check out the pictures and you will see how clean this SUV is. Tranny and 4x4 work great and no known other problems other than what is described below and a mirror light that broke and the seat back levers broke. We used a baby pair of vice grips to adjust the seat back. Last week we smelled antifreeze so the first thing I did was drain the oil and we noticed some water in the oil. I suspected the intake manifold gaskets as the 4.3 is famous for 2 problems once it hits 100,000 miles, intake manifold gaskets and bad fuel pressure regulators. I decided to replace both while I had it apart. I cleaned the intake and throttle body and injectors. Next I prepped the heads for gasket install and flushed the motor with 2 gallons of WD 40 and cheap motor oil. While I was at I replace the plugs and tested each plug wire. I replace the fuel pressure regulator with a new one. The oil pressure sending unit was also replaced as I was taught to replace really hard to get to parts while doing other repairs. The thermostat and belt was replaced also. Next step and why this truck is for sale, was to test the head gasket for leaks as a bad one can also leak coolant into the oil. I filled the radiator up to where the water ports on the head are. Let it sit over night and it filled a cup of water through the oil drain plug. My conclusion is that the motor blew a passenger side head gasket (3&5 Plugs were wet) but also know more serious engine problems can cause this also. Here are your possible scenarios in my opinion. 1. Replace head gasket and you just got fantastic deal 2. Cracked head and you still got a great deal 3. Cracked block and you have to buy a low miles used motor and you still got a great truck at a fair overall price with a low miles motor. Kelly Blue Book is over $5000 We have been thinking of buying my daughter a new car so now is the time and the Blazer must go. Known maintenance before I bought it was a BG coolant and brake flush and new Monroe shocks. Maintenance I did; 1. Replaced upper and lower ball joints 2. Replaced intake with a lifetime high flow cone filter 3. Replace muffler with a high flow Walker 4. Changed oil, transmission filter and fluid, transfer case fluid, and rear axle fluid. 5. Replaced fuel filter 6. Replaced ignition coil 7. Change oil every 4 k with Mobil 1 10/30 oil. 8. Lube chassis every 6 months 9. Detailed motor and is still very clean. 10. New belt 11. New fuel pressure regulator 12. New oil pressure sending unit Of course this vehicle will sold as is an buyer will sign this listing. Please feel free to call me with any questions at 443.468.0226
