Vehicle Detail
This is a 1979 Jeep CJ7 That I purchased 2 years ago. I bought it for the transmission and top to use on another Jeep, but ended up not needing them. I am listing for the fifth time because buyers did not follow through. If you have zero feedback contact me before bidding. Must be picked up and paid for with cash. Mileage is unknown. It runs and drives good , but is very very rusty. I think the only good body parts are the hood and grill. I drove it approximately 60 miles home 2 years ago at highway speeds. It hasn't been off our place since. I have just driven it up and down the road once in a while. I have always kept it inside. The brakes are a little soft. It has some thin sheets of tin covering big holes in the sides where it is rusted out. I put some new steel in the floor boards and a big piece of steel in the floor of the back. The areas behind the seats where the outside part of the seat belts attach to the floor are completely rusted out and the roll bar is not attached in front of the fenders. As you can see in the pics that area is completely rusted out. The seats are attached solid to there original threaded holes in the floor and all bolts have been recently out and back in (not rusted up.) The frame is pretty solid with just surface rust except one small spot on inside part of frame rail behind rear passenger wheel that rusted through. I covered it with a piece of steel and it can't bee seen unless you remove the floor from rear. It has a 258 cc inline 6 cyl. engine with 3 spd manual trans. It shifts real good. The 4-wheel drive has lockout hubs and it works good. It has a new looking aluminum gas tank. It has a chrome overlay over the grill that has a little surface rust on it. It has a nice set of 15 inch Goodyear Wrangler tires with quite a bit of tread left on them. It has a decent hardtop and doors. The hinges on the top back gate are broken and it is attached to the top with screws. Both windows roll up and down good. There is a chip in the windshield right below the rear view mirror that is not noticeable. Jeep is located approx. 40 miles west of Louisville, Ky just off US HWY 150.
