1984 Dodge Power Ram Prospector Custom 4x4 W30 3/4 ton HEAVY DUTY 'Highboy' style Super LOW RESEVE starting bid. Please bid to own and ONLY if you plan on following through with the purchase. There is a lot of good info here so please read it all before bidding. Rare truck with ALL ORIGINAL & FACTORY: PS - PB - A/C - 360 c.i. - 4 barrel Carter - 4 speed manual - PART TIME 4 WHEEL DRIVE with manual locking hubs 2H-4H-4L transfer case - Dana 44 front & 60 rear- appears to be stock ride height (not lifted) - big brakes - 8 lug steel wheels - all the heavy duty stuff. ALL ORIGINAL SHEETMETAL with NO RUST. Mostly original paint. This has been a dry, rust free southern AZ truck it's whole life. Title designates this truck as a W30 (but I'm not sure what that means?) Some added extras are: second (DUAL) FUEL TANK approx. 15 gals (toggle switch on lower dash). Gas smells pretty old in there so I would flush before using. Previous owner was a sheet metal worker so he built some custom galvanized steel storage bins in engine compartment (look good, are functional, and pretty cool actually) and behind bench seat. Back of seat is modified to carry rifles as well! Cowboy hat carrier mounted in ceiling. Aftermarket heavy duty steel rear bumper and hitch with tow hooks included. Looks like newer gas shocks installed (unknown brand) still work well. Sliding rear window may be aftermarket?? and it works great. If you are a Mopar guy like me, you know what you're looking at. I'm sure you're aware of how hard it is to find an all original and unmodified W30 4x4 regular cab long box in any condition, let alone one like this and with these options. This is not some D-100 or 150 with 3/4 ton hardware cobbled in after the fact: this is a real W30 truck with all the heavy duty good stuff there from the factory, all in a rust free package. Motor runs EXCELLENT. New battery. Original bench seat interior. No cracks in dash or side panels. MINT condition original rubber floor covering. All window glass good, all lights - switches, work great. All chrome is very nice. Looks like original Dodge tape pin stripes and vinyl door ding bumper strips still there and quite decent. Original paint and sheetmetal in bed has scratches and dings as should be expected, but NO RUST. Rear tailgate is in surprisingly good shape. HERES WHAT THIS TRUCK NEEDS: Plastic bodied Carter carb has been rebuilt but must have been done improperly as motor keeps stalling out once it gets warm. Due to this issue I would recommend that you (the new owner) tow or trailer this truck home. A/C not cold but it's all there. Transmission shifts well, transfer case shifts well, hubs lock and unlock easily. Clutch works well but it feels soft. Original paint is definitely oxzidizing from our brutal AZ sun. Looks good in photos but the clear is coming off. Original tan vinyl on bench seat is tearing at drivers side. Tires on original 16.5" steel wheels are mismatched but in very good shape and tread depth is at 75%. No spare. Left side 350 emblem fell off and was replaced with a 250 emblem long ago (he said that's all he could find and I guess this was before ebay). Have right side mirror but bottom area where body of mirror threads onto the bracket is stripped and will need to be re-tapped (original chrome mounting bracket included and in good condition; all parts are there). Holes cut in either side lower door for speakers (speakers missing). Looks like a possible oil leak in rear main seal? see photo. Original weather stripping around doors is old and cracked. Closer look at left front fender shows a possible re-spray as it may look just a tad darker than the rest of the truck, and it's very hard to tell. Please look at photos carefully. I have shown all body damage I could find: at right rear of fender, one ding in right side lower fender, and at left front around grill/fender area. I'm really trying to nit-pick this truck and list all it's faults that I know of because I don't want any unhappy buyers out there. But, it's nice enough to keep the way it is and just drive it and enjoy it. Get the carb situation straightened out (replace with a Holley or Edelbrock maybe?) and this beast will rock.
