1977 Suzuki GT500

This is a restomod Suzuki GT500. I Bought it for $50 in 1980 as a basket case and it sat in the corner of my garage for 6 years. I finally decided to get it running and looking good. I decided to make it look better than original. I had the frame powder coated red and restored the rest of it to make it look the way I thought the factory should have made it in the first place. Most of the fasteners were replaced with new ones. The handlebars are new. Many hours were spent polishing and cleaning and painting. New pistons and rings were installed. It has new carbs. The forks and brakes and swing arm were rebuilt. The exhaust pipes were replaced with new ones. The alternator was replaced with a good used one along with a new rectifier. The gas tank was professionally repainted. The seat was professionally recovered. The tires were new in 2006 but I have ridden it enough to wear most of the tread off the rear tire. The front tire is still very good. It runs great and is lots of fun to ride. The mirrors were new. A new x-ring chain and new sprockets were installed. The mileage on the speedometer is not the bike's mileage. The original instuments were shot so I had to locate good used ones.
