Vehicle Detail

1980 Triumph Spitfire MKIV 1500 Please read this full description! For sale here is my 1980 Triumph Spitfire MKIV 1500. The Car has 58,900 ORIGINAL MILES. It is an absolutely brilliant car and in excellent condition. The car runs as fantastic as it looks as well. It has a lot more power than it originally did, it has a weber carburetor and several other performance modifications that make it run quicker and more reliably than the originals did. It handles amazingly and is a true drivers car. If you've never driven a LBC (Little British Car) you've not yet lived! They're an experience unlike any other and this one is at the pinnacle of such experiences. As I said, I recently acquired this car through a trade with a fellow, the sad thing is that niether one of us knew the extent and details of the California Emissions Laws. While this car is absolutely fine and legal in every other state, the performance modifications done to it are "technically" "illegal" but only in California. It is perfectly legal in any other state. Now, that doesn't mean it smokes and dumps biohazard into the air around it, it just means the parts that have been used to make the engine much better and more reliable than it was originally were not "California Emissions Approved". I could put the original parts on it, but it would cost me a good $500 or so which things are just too tight right now for me to be able to afford, thus why I am selling it (which breaks my heart because I've fallen in love with it) and this is why it's up on Ebay, I'm looking for a buyer who's not in California. ANY OTHER STATE this little car is JUST FINE and COMPLETELY LEGAL in. The title is Completely Clean as well. I'm selling this car for much less than it could actually bring because I'm having to deal with the headache of selling it out of state and want to deal with as little BS as possible and I need to get it sold as soon as possible so I have smog-legal-california-legal-transportation and am not riding the bus (I refuse to drive something around unless it's 100% legal). Please do not bid on this car if you are not serious about such a purchase. As I mentioned above I do not want to deal with any kind of BS. I will help arrange shipping for the buyer however the buyer is of course responsible for shipping including the payment. If you want to come out and meet face to face and hand cash in person and go from there that would be fine to. But if you want me to arrange shipping with you I'll be more than happy to work with you on that. Full Payment is required within 7 days of Auction Close. I will accept Cash, a Cashiers Check from a major bank, or a personal check. As always it will need to clear first. If you send Cash a Cashiers Check, Personal Check or Money Order I will fax a temporary copy of the title to you as soon as the Cash is in hand or the Check has cleared, after which I will mail the title and paperwork and we will get the car shipped. A few last things to note!: The car is sold AS-IS. These Little Old European Cars WILL eventually require maintenance here and there, no matter how good of condition they're in. The parts for them are always incredibly cheap and readily available from websites like spitbits. If you've ever had a old Volkswagen Beetle or a old British Sports Car you know how easy they are to work on and again, parts are VERY cheap for them. This car DOES need it's Gasket to be replaced BUT I have the Gasket in hand, it was a cheap part ($30) and only takes about 30 minutes to put on with a few wrenches. It leaks a small bit of oil till this is replaced but is perfectly drivable till then, you just need to put a quart of oil in it every great now and then (20w-50). Again, replacing that part is very easy and painfree to do and even in perfect condition you'll have to replace parts like that on a little old European car from time to time, it's just how they are. There's an old saying that goes around between the Little British Car collectors as well, "If it's not leaking oil from some where, something is wrong with it." For a car THIS rare, THIS collectible in THIS good of condition that runs THIS well to be at THIS price it will not last long. Again, I'm just selling it cheap so I can put the money towards smog-legal-california-legal car and once more, this car is legal in any other state but California. I hope you read and understand everything. Happy Bidding! On Mar-18-11 at 21:45:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Please read this full description!
