Vehicle Detail
You are invited to bid in a 1975 Triumph Trident T-160, the final bike developed by the original Truimph Engineering Company. The 1975 Trident had forward-sloping cylinders and electric start. I picked this up with possible restoration in mind, but realize I have too many other projects. Possibly the basis for a restoration, a custom bike, or a parts bike. This is basically a barn find, some things are rough or missing, and the underside of the bike is still covered with crud. It is not a running motorcycle, nor a matching numbers bike. The inspection tag on the fork reads 1981; the odometer reads 7,185 miles (although I have no way to know how many actual miles are on this engine). The pictures tell the story. As for the important stuff, I did enough cleaning to see that the frame looks okay. The engine turns over with the kickstart and has compression. I have not pulled the engine covers so I don’t know what lies beneath. As you can see from the photos, I pulled off and stripped the sheet metal parts looking for dents or bodywork (found some of both), and stuck them back on with primercoat for protection. Stuff that’s missing includes the airbox, the headlight bucket, mufflers (I do have the clamps), chainguard, front brake disk and caliper, turn signals, and a good number of smaller things. That’s not a Triumph rear wheel, so that will have to be replaced. The handlebar is bent. Not shown is the rear brake caliper, mounting bracket, and master cylinder, which I will include. I also have the other tank badge. The seat pan needs re-upholstering and it needs a rear hinge. I will include a new Haynes manual and the original Triumph parts catalog for this bike. I have no title (none is needed for Alabama). Shipping arrangements are entirely up to the buyer, although I’ll help within reason. There is no reserve price. If you have questions, please ask prior to bidding.
