1968 Karmann Ghia---VW lovers, here it is....you will never find another KG as solid as this one at this price. WE HAVE TO SELL. Heres the deal. I bought the car (bill of sale only)a yr and a half ago. It ran great, and i drove it to the bodyshop to get some surface rust and 2 holes about the size of a cigarette pk repaired on lower rear quarters. I am not a VW man, just got it at a bargain from someone needing money and I DO admire the bodysyle alot. The car was professionally prepped, primed and painted. This is not a Bondo bucket and is certainly not junk. I had a new headliner installed, and new carpet installed and the front and rear seats recovered. I also purchased a NEW front windshield for it as the orig was cracked. The door panels were in good shape. (driver panel in car)I realized during the project that it no turn sigs in the front and that some of the wiring was screwed up. I had a VW guy come in and rewire the car for turns and emerg flashers, but never got around to installing front turn/running lights. The front windshield never got installed, I got busy with other projects and this was taken and left aside for about a yr. in the shop. I left for out-of town business for about 6 months(I am a contractor). When I returned I learned the shop had been burglarized. The seats had been taken. Thats the only thing missing from it, nothing else was taken. the wiring had not been completed and the glass (rear was removed for painting) had not been installed. This car comes with new windshield, chrome kit for the engine, and for 600.00 more I will throw in some brand new in the box Drag Euro rims (very sharp and much cheaper than todays prices on the same item, serious inquiries...I will tell you the rim parts no. on Drags website so you can eyeball them)If you love these KGs and are looking for a bargain, give me a call @ 270-779-1641 and make me a reasonable offer. I have over 5K invested but will sell at a loss...but not a foolish one. I assess another 2K will bring this car into the 7-11K range easily. My mechanic friend did put about 1/2 qt. of trans fluid in the engine thru the carb as he knew it would be sitting for awhile. The tires need replacing but are original rims. It also shifted well when I drove it. It was cranked about 8 months ago and ran fine for a bit before being put where it is now. With todays' gas prices and a solid market on VWs (KGs) this is a smart investment. Thanks for looking. He has to meet me there Friday morning of this wk where he will file for (no, it's not a salvage title, just misplaced) "Lost Title"....the title will arrive at his residence which is very near me and I will retrieve it to send it overnite to the new owner...Since it will take a little time to get this shipped or delivered and getting it roadworthy (which I promise is not much), you will have the title in time to tag it and get it on the highway a week to 10 days after getting the car.
