2002 VW Golf with very high mileage, but all highway miles. Engine starts and runs flawlessly. Recently (less than 10,000 miles ago) replaced timing belt, clutch, pressure plate and camshaft seals. New wheels and tires. ALL service was done by my local VW dealer. Engine oil changed every 5000 miles, and always used Castrol Syntec oil. I also have several new Mann oil filters for this car. Problems: 5th gear not functional. 1-4 work great. drivers side front fender is rusty ( I have a brand new replacement fender that goes with the car). This car is worth the starting bid in just parts. The turbo and injection pump alone justify the price. The car has been maintained very well. The fender showed signs of rust at the beginning of winter, and I bought the fender to replace it in spring, then the transmission's 5th gear went out. I have no idea as to the reason for the trans issue, but want to sell the car without repairing. No shipping-- come and pick it up in Dover, PA.
