Vehicle Detail

This is my 1963 Corvair Spyder, I have owned this car for 3 years now and have enjoyed it very much but now its time to move on to other things. When I bought it it had a British SU. H type carb. on it and it didn't run too well. I brought it to Turbo technologies, (They are a local company with a very good reputation) they worked on it for two days and 750 dollars latter, they couldn't get the carb. to run right. They did test out the turbo and found it to be in perfect working order with the proper amount of boost. I bought a correct carb. off of ebay and had it rebuilt by a diehard Corvair aficionado. At that time I had the clutch and pressure plate and various other small parts replaced by the same guy, This guy knows Corvairs!! I had the generator rebuilt, replaced the old fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap ect new starter. It has a short throw quick shifter in it and shifts smoothly. It has a larger then stock cam but nothing radical. I really really love driving this car because it seams to float like an old Cadillac, very smooth. I had an electric choke installed when the Carb. was rebuilt and it starts up nicely even when its really cold out. It does have a little hesitation right at the beginning of acceleration but just needs the carb. adjusted. It drives very good in the city and even going up the steepest hills you don't have to downshift, it has plenty of power. It really does good on the freeway, you can be moving along at 60 and when you hit the gas the turbo spools up and before you know it your doing close to a hundred and it still feel like your doing 60. The paint is in fair shape and was repainted some years ago and has some flaws like some bubbling checking and a few small chips but still looks really good from ten feet. The only rust issue is in the rear deck drip rail but its just a couple small spots and all the trim is in good shape. The rear bumper has a small dent. It has a 64 rear air grill and its in good shape. The wire wheel covers are in great shape and I have five so one for the spare. The interior is in good shape. The front seats where re done and look great. The back seat is original and is still in good shape, no tears ect. The headliner is perfect. It has newer carpet in good shape. The door panels are a little warped but still look ok. It has the original am radio that works sometimes but not usually. The trunk is in good shape with no rust. The things I know it needs: The rear wheel bearings are going bad. The heater blower works really well but I took what was left of the heater hose out because they were rotted. The drivers side rear view mirror fell out while I was driving and I haven't replaced it yet because I put the car in storage. It doesn't have seat belts in the rear if that matters to you. It needs rear deck lid seals. I cannot really think of much else it needs accept a new owner. I will not ship this car for you but if you make arrangements I will deliver to the shipping co.
