Vehicle Detail
Solid, Straight, Southern Car.... If you like this bodystyle Galaxie this is a very good starting point. This car has been in and out of storage since 1985, when the windshield was busted out by an ex wife. This car is very straight, doors, deck lid and hood open and close tight and with ease. The floorpan and trunk pan are solid, as are the rockers, low fenders, low quarters, etc. It is an all matching numbers car powered by it's original 352 4 barrell engine. The car runs good, but it will need the fuel tank cleaned, I am currently running it off a jug to prevent any old gasoline or trash from getting into the carberator. Car has dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers. I have removed the broken windshield and purchased a replacement which needs installed, but it is included in this auction. All other glass is good, windows roll up and down good. Headliner is good, needs a dashpad, interior needs very little to be really nice. Bodywise, there was some surface rust on the top of the car and the deck lid. I sanded both to the bare metal, prepped and primed them, the top has some small pitting in areas that will need a two part filler putty before painting. The car has received one basic repaint in it's lifetime, color was changed from the medium blue metallic to sky blue. there is some very thin bondo on the driver side rear quarter, see pic. The only rust issues in the car are, a hole in the battery box, on the bottom corner of the driver door underside, the drip channel in the trunk has some rust that was repaired at some point in time. Underneath the car is solid, it sat in an old barn for many years, then it spent some time outside, then it was placed under a carport, which is where it currently resides. Missing one hubcap. Everything on the car seems to work, the lights, horn, blinkers, fan, radio etc. Grill is bent just a little. Needs a battery. Overall this old car is in very good shape and if you are looking to restore a 66 this is an excellent starting point. If you would like to see additional pictures or have any questions please feel free to ask. Car comes with a legal georgia bill of sale only, titles aren't required on pre 1985. If you need a title, check with broadway title company in alabama, they can issue a title on a classic car for a fee. Payment is due in full within 5 days of auction end, would prefer it be picked up promptly thereafter. Thanks for viewing my auction God Bless :)
