Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on an extremely clean, unmolested 1934 Chrysler 5-window coupe with 43,100 actual miles! This is a very rare and near-impossible car to find in any condition. This Chrysler is in good-driving condition with it's original paint and NO rust, none. It is on it's second known owner since new and has spent the majority of it's life in dry, inside storage. Even the original owner's manual is in the glovebox! How rare is a 1934 Chrysler coupe? If you know your cars then you already have a good idea. If you don't, here's some interesting production number facts: For the 1934 production year, Ford produced 75,000 five-window coupes; Chevrolet produced 53,018; Plymouth 15,658; Dodge 5,323...Chrysler produced 1,875 of this model. That's it. It was the middle of the depression and this car sold for four times the money as The Ford or Chevy models. The only notable body defects on the car is a dent on the outside edge of the front passenger fender and a smaller one on the upper-radius of the driver's front fender. The rest of the all-steel body is totally pristine, straight and completely rust-free. The fabric roof has been covered with sheet metal and painted to match the car at some point, that's the biggest issue to be addressed, but very fixable. The hood, doors and trunk all fit the body lines extremely well and have no flaws or notable wear at the hinge points. The doors open & close perfectly, just like the day it rolled off the line. The factory-original straight-six motor runs very well with no issues and the 3-speed transmission with overdrive works well. The factory hydraulic brakes operate properly. The car runs and drives good with no issues and all the dash instruments and controls work well. The honycomb radiator is flawless on both front and backside. The car's frame has some of the factory-original black paint still on it. The factory production numbers are still on the firewall over the original red-oxide primer which was taped-off prior to the car's original painted-finish being applied. It is marked: 205X364 PG; 15 - 2 1 4. The oval body number tag is marked: CA-1585-C. The VIN number tag is attached to the passenger door post. Aside from a rip in the headliner, the interior is in incredibly nice condition. The seat has no flaws whatsoever and the majority of the burlwood is still intact on the dash and window garnishes. The dash gauges all work properly and are in beautiful condition with no visible flaws. Even the rear-curtain for the back window is intact and undamaged! The aluminum Chrysler-marked door threshold plates are both in excellent condition throughout. The rumble seat area is also very complete & clean with no flaws in the bottom or back cushions and the original grease gun, jack & accessories are all still intact. The front bumper is included and very straight but is off the car because one of the two support brackets is broken, which is also an easy fix. The grille is totally flawless with no dents or bent vertical bars. The factory Gazelle mascot and winged-radiator cap are just beautiful and have no flaws. The majority of the car's chrome and hardware are very nice with little -if any pitting. It honestly does not matter to me whether you buy this to restore to original or to street rod out, but either way it's not going to sell for a song. You just don't find one of these in every other barn, especially this clean and complete. You could invest half as much money in another coupe and get five-times less car and then spend the difference along the way repairing rust and sourcing out good-quality parts. You are welcome to inspect this car before investing in it and you will truly be amazed at it's beautiful original-unrestored condition. Please do not ask about any trades or low offers, but please do feel free to ask questions about the quality of the car or concerns you may have. Thanks for looking and good luck!
