Hello All, Here we have my prize possession 78 Jeep CJ-7. It has been ground up built with meticulous attention and pride. I will start from the ground and go up. Four new Pro-Comp 35's all terrain radials on Pro-Comp 15x8's. Axles are narrow trac rear Dana 44 with 373 gears and Detroit Tru Trac possie locker. Solid one piece axles and all new hardware. Front is Dana 30 with 373 gearing and open diff stock axles and all new hardware rotors 6 bolt Warn lock-out hubs. AGR heavy duty steering gear box. Both axles have stainless covers. All new steering link, drag link, tie rods, upper and lower ball joints. You get the picture, everything is new. Complete power brake system new with stainless lines, new proportioning valve and master cylinder and booster. 4 inch 4WD lift kit with entire red polyurethane suspension and body mount kit installed. This includes shocks. Also front greasable shackles. Frame was down to nothing and blasted and primed and painted. All things mounted to frame and almost everything is grade 8 hardware. Bumpers were custom built and are welded to the frame and were blasted and painted at same time. Engine is a professionally rebuilt AMC 360 with Edelbrock Torker Package installed. This includes intake manifold, 650 carb with off-road needles and seats, heavy duty valve springs and keeps, heavy duty rv cam. Has MSD ignition, billet MSD distributor,and MSD 9mm wires, Edelbrock coated shorty headers. Offenhouser aluminum valve covers. 140 amp high output alternator, red top Optima battery. Aluminum 3 row radiator and electric fan with shroud. Truck runs very strong and has a nice crisp response. Has custom duel exhaust out the back with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. This truck being a 78 has no emissions requirements. Thats why I wanted it so straight headers to mufflers. Transmission is a Chrysler 727 automatic completely rebuilt with a new converter and a mild B&M shift kit. Very nice and smooth. Backed by a Dana 300 transfer case. Custom CV rear drive shaft. This truck is built with all the stuff to have some serious fun but only went for ice cream a couple times. Body consists of two brand new front fenders, 94 Wrangler body converted to Cj. Gas inlet moved to right side, tailgate reworked back to Cj style, windshield hardware and defrost inlet moved and adjusted. The only thing that was forgot was the windshield sprayers. There are still two instead of one in the middle. Has brand new windshield. Has all stainless hardware and hinges and attachment hardware. There is no rust on anything. All steel. Tub was flipped over and super lined before assembly. Other the that you can't tell. Body was blasted down to metal and epoxy primed on the spot. All parts were 360 painted. Painted midnight blue is dark at night but bright in the sun. Front clip is a slight shade off from tub due to different paint times.There is three very small chips that occurred during build but only one is now visible and has been touched up. I also have matching half steel doors with panels and stainless hardware. Never put them back together or on. There is no top but has brand new soft top frame and hardware. Never had a top on either. Truck has never seen rain and was only driven a few times on sunny days. Interior has new carpet, roll bar padding, used but very nice Besttop front reclining seats. Rear seat has Besttop cover on it but is still good. Dash was completely redone to stock Loredo specs with tach, clock, and aftermarket speakers.Stereo is a JVC HD single disk cd with front usb input. 6x9 speaker wedges behind seats, two 10'' subs in rear. Front 250 amp rear 500 amp for subs. NO problem hearing you favorite tunes going down the road with top down. This has been a seven year long project of mine and has taken so long I can't remember everything so feel free to ask any questions. I have most paperwork from things bought. I would say 20K invested if not more! This thing has been driven very little and has no where near 500 miles since build. I can provide more pictures upon request. That's $2000 worth of stuff!! Remember: This is a modified vehicle with lots of power. It has narrow trac axles and 4 plus inches of lift. As stated the year 78 is emissions exempt in Virginia. I would think it is the same in almost all states. If not it can be historical tagged. Thanks
